JB's Skate Sharpening

Bonjour lovely people! I hope were all well and enjoying the change of the seasons. I love this time of year as the ice is a plenty now the hockey seasons over and as much as I dont like seeing low numbers of attendance we all know and love having that feeling of loads of space or sometimes even having the ice to yourself.

Im a bit late with it this month but my here are the days you can catch me in person for a drop in....

If you cant make those please do remember that boots can be left for me anytime between 9-5 M-F at the Fidelis offices on slyfield. You can also sometimes book an appointment on Wed, Thurs and Fridays through me if im free but please do bear in mind these are my days off from the security night work so if im not available sometimes there not a lot I can do about it.

Whilst your there dropping boots off you can also enquire about any lock/key issues, keyholding and alarm response service queries or any thoughts on home/commercial security systems. Theres not a lot we dont know about what we do and if we dont know theres a good chance we'll know someone reputable that will.

Morning lovely people! Im very aware some of you have made an enquiry regarding coming today. Please be aware that it looks like the heat is going waaaayyyyy up again today which is bad news for me. Give me 5-13°c in a rink anyday!! Due to the heat and as annoying as this is I cant work in boiling greenhouse temperatures as im sure you can appreciate.

You'll still be able to drop them off for me at various points but you'll have to call the on call locksmith just to check if he's at the office still or out on a job. The number you'll need for this is the main Fidelis number of 01483506225.

After yesterday and the coming forecast I was expecting a much cooler start to the day maybe a max of 24/25 at the highest point but alas we are set to reach approx 27°c today which means the workshop will go a bit above that being a tin can shell absorbing heat and this gentleman melts in the heat 😭😭

I can only apologise to those that were planning on coming today and if urgent or unable to drop please do contact me directly to organise an appointment or alternative solution as ill also make myself available more in the evenings through the week. Hopefully posting some form of resolution later today.

Here we go another month with some slight changes towards the end on the weekends.

This months sharpening dates are as follows:

Saturday 2nd 09:30-16:30/17:00
Sunday 3rd 12:00-16:30/17:00

Sunday 17th 12:00-16:30/17:00

Saturday 30th 09:30-16:30/17:00
Sunday - NO SERVICE.

Thats right as we head into the summer months I take back my Sundays for a couple of months to have to myself in the off season. As always I can still also be messaged for an appointment and the overnight service M-F continues if the boots are left for me between 9-5.

Possibly looking to go away for a few days in July for my birthday to give early warning. Just depends if the pennies fall right for me 😁

Heya guys and gals! I hope everyones well and enjoying the sunshine thats been out as of late! Still cold nights though I can assure you 🤣

Right ive got a little apology to make.....over the easter break I got incredibly busy with both job roles I do, I was tired and rundown and as much as i tried to stay on top I may have missed the odd message on whats app for people asking for their boots to be done. Im sorry for this and please if you dont hear from me within a day or 2 please please please pester me with message after message until you get a reply. Dont worry about me sleeping from night shifts. The phone goes on silent whilst im asleep in the daytimes and I only usually sleep 3/4hrs a day anyway.

Bonjour and good afternoon to you all! This week's been mad work wise so my apologies if you've messaged and im only just getting back to you today or you've been on the edge of your seat waiting to see if I'm sharpening this weekend.

This months weekend dates and times for walkins are as follows:

Saturday 4th 09:30-16:30/17:00
Sunday 5th 12:00-16:30/17:00

Saturday 18th 09:30-16:30/17:00
Sunday 19th 12:00-16:30/17:00

As usual guys and gals last pairs for the day on weekends must be in by 16:30, any that come afterwards will have to be left and wait till the next morning to be ready for collection when I open at 12 or on the Monday.

If you would like an appointment on a weekday ping me a message to see what I've got available on each day as my weeks vary. Usually theres always somewhere to fit you in though 😁

The Fidelis shop is closed on Bank holidays just to warn if im not there so please dont try and drop off unless agreed with myself to meet you there.

One of the office lads getting a bit creative with the AI advertisements. AI engine may have gotten the wrong end of the stick slightly sharpening blades and being a night worker 🤣

Working the nights theres definitely been a trend change recently and the daffodils are coming out nicely aswell I've noticed! Im more interested in getting my ice time and sorting your blades for you so you get yours! 😁😁😁

Just a little update peeps! Ive been booked in for a hospital appointment this Wednesday morning. Therefore I won't be available for overnight sharpenings on the Tuesday or Wednesday as im going to be wiped out for the day when I come out. Nothing too untoward so dont panic. Your skate sharpener will still be around for you from Thursday onwards.
