The club is now open for play in line with the latest Government advice. Singles only if not from the same household. Doubles are permitted if all players from the same household. Make sure you read the Birtley Tennis email instructions before venturing into clubhouse or on court.

The Club, including both clubhouse and courts, is closed in line with government guidelines during the coronavirus pandemic. Please do not use the facilities.

ESG are offering a free trial tennis lesson at Birtley any term-time Saturday before the end of May. Offer is applicable to 4-7 years old. Email [email protected] for a voucher.

A new coach, Dan Lampton, has recently joined Chris Lloyd to assist in providing coaching for all levels of players at Birtley. Dan will therefore be providing coaching as follows:

Monday evenings:

Rusty Rackets from 6pm – 7pm: This is specifically for adult players new to tennis and anyone who may not have played tennis for some time. Cost £8 per person.
Technique Coaching from 7pm – 7.30pm: This session is for intermediate and advanced players who may want to improve their playing technique. Cost £4 per person.
Doubles Tactics from 7.30pm – 8.30pm: This coaching is again for intermediate and advanced players and aimed at those whose majority of play is doubles. Cost £8 per person.
