Three years ago today, we opened the doors for the first time.

We didn't know how it would go.

We knew what we wanted to build, a gym for people who'd been left behind by the rest of the industry.
People who wanted to feel strong, move well, and actually enjoy training. People over 30, 40, 50, 60.
People who'd given up on gyms years ago.

Three years on, here's what's happened ↓

Amazing members. 9 coaches. 15,000+ hours coached.
Hundreds of people lifting more than they ever thought they could. Dozens of fresh starts after 50.
A team that feels like family. A community that's become our reason.

We owe this to every single one of you, the members who trust us, the coaches who pour everything in, the families who've supported you (and us) along the way.

We're not done. Year 3 starts now. 🧡

This is Christine. She's 73.

She lifts her own case into the overhead locker.

She gardens.

She picks her grandchildren up off the floor.

She trains twice a week, for her bones, against the osteoporosis, to keep the muscle where it should be.

"I feel as fantastic at 73 as I did in my 40s."

Most women her age are told to expect the opposite. Slow down. Mind your back. Take it easy. Christine didn't get that memo.

Two boys. Seven and five. Climbing on top of him at 40.

Will didn't come to Power chasing a six-pack. He came so he'd still be the one his kids couldn't pin down, wrestling on the carpet, keeping up on the trips, not paying for it the next day.

Three weeks in, he was already noticing the difference. It's carried on from there.

Women have spent their whole adult lives being told to take up less space.

Eat less. Shrink yourself. Run further. Stick to Pilates. Don't lift heavy, you'll bulk up.

It was bad advice at 30. After menopause, it's the worst possible thing a woman can do.

Here's why.
When oestrogen drops in menopause, bones start losing density. Fast. The instinct most women have at this point is to do what's always worked before, more cardio, eat less, try harder.

None of it builds bone. Some of it actively strips it.

The only thing that protects bone density through and after menopause is loading it.

Lifting heavy things. Strength training, programmed properly for a woman in midlife.

This is the conversation we have with women in their first month at Power, and it's almost always the first time anyone's said it to them out loud.

That shouldn't be the case. But until it changes, we'll keep saying it.
