U11 Stringers Match Report

Lots to be proud of from the U11 Stringers against Stones Cross Royals.

The boys worked incredibly hard, matched the opposition for effort and never stopped trying to play football the right way.

What mattered most was the attitude. Heads stayed up, the boys kept battling and there were still plenty of examples of the quality of football this team is capable of playing. It was also lovely to hear positive comments afterwards from others not connected to either team about the way the boys play - a real credit to them.

Player of the Match: Viv 🏆
A commanding performance in goal, with some excellent saves and brilliant distribution to help get us playing from the back. Well done, Viv! 👏

⚽️ U8 Stringers - Match Report

Another great morning of football for the Stringers, this weekend, away against Pass & Move at The St Leonard’s Academy.

The team showed fantastic effort, determination and team spirit, working hard for each other and continuing to develop together. It all paid off! Lots of positives to take from the game and plenty to build on as the season continues. 👏⚽️

Another fantastic performance from the team this morning in the League Cup against Link! 💛💚⚽️

After a slow start, with Link taking an early lead, the boys settled into the game really well and started to take control. We created several good chances and even had a goal ruled out for offside before half-time.

The second half was much of the same, with us spending most of the time camped in their half and continuing to create opportunities. We kept pushing and were eventually rewarded with a brilliantly worked goal from Ernie to bring us level! 🙌

That took us to penalties, where the team showed great composure to come out victorious! 🏆👏

Another brilliant display from the boys, showing great character, determination and belief to come back from a goal down and keep pushing until the end.

A thoroughly deserved result and another performance the team can be really proud of. 💚💛

Match Week 3 for the Under 9 Stringers 💛💚

On a very windy morning in Hastings, we looked to continue our good start to the season.

The game started a bit slower than normal on a rather slow pitch, which took the boys some time to adapt to. A very even first 6–7 (🤷🏼‍♂️) minutes, with both teams putting in some great tackles and most of the play staying in the middle of the pitch.

For the third week in a row, our scoring was opened by Kylo. A misplaced clearance fell nicely for Kylo to run onto and, with his left foot, he curled a great strike into the corner.

Confidence grew, and by half-time we were 2–0 up, with a goal from Brooklyn.

Into the second half, and St Leonard’s were not in the business of giving up and got themselves a goal back.

Late in the third quarter, we got a corner which Carter drilled into the box. It went straight into the goal off the keeper (unlucky to the little lad!).

Into the fourth quarter, and more goals came through Brooklyn and Kylo to see the game out.

This week, we were without some big players/defenders in Kairo, Hudson and Ali, so Jacob knew from the off that he had a big job on his hands. He defended brilliantly all game and got our play going with some great passes from the back.

Late in the game, Jasper and Kylo took on the defensive duties and contributed brilliantly.

An excellent goalkeeping display from Jasper, playing 3 out of the 4 quarters and making some big saves.

Onto Man of the Match, and off the back of his win last week, Brooklyn came extremely close, having another brilliant game, working hard for the team and again getting on the scoresheet.

But this week, for his tireless running, great crossing and four wonderful goals, Kylo took the trophy home.

Extremely proud of this group and already looking forward to the next one.

A cracking morning of football, which both teams contributed to and some wonderful goals!

Sedlescombe came out on the front foot and played some lovely football.

The message to the Ropers after a goalless first quarter was simple... show me you want to be here...

The effort, improved and so did the football!

Both teams playing a good brand of football, and if it wasn't for all the keepers today the supporters for both sides may have been treated to more goals.

The PAC Performance player of the week was debut boy, Teddy, who even played in the defence! Composed on the ball, clever runs and a well taken goal!

Another great performance from all the boys, who are showing their potential 👊🏻

Excellent effort today from the ropers today in there first cup game of the season, although we was on the wrong end of a defeat, the passion, desire and effort is something to be proud of and take into the rest of the season ⚽️
