Great game and score for the last Women’s Softball B match of the season last night, beating Belbroughton by 62 runs.

The Woodettes took four wickets:
Rachael: caught behind by Keely
Eden: a run out off Kali’s bowling, and two in the final over - one caught and bowled and the other caught by Nat.

It was difficult to choose Gal of the Game as there was amazing batting, bowling and fielding by everyone.

🏏 Nat got a catch, bowled well and ran 16 runs, including two 4s off her new signature shot!
🏏 Kali had a great debut league game bowling well and scoring 10 runs, not out, including a 4, earning her Belbroughton’s GOTG.
🏏 Great batting partnership between Scoobs and Rach pushing the runs.
🏏 Jo R and Lisa consistent as ever with the bat and bowling.
🏏 Eden class bowling as usual.
🏏 Great bowling from Keely and took the caught behind.
👏 GOTG - Rach for her wicket, excellent bowling, fielding and batting.

Great to end the softball season with five wins from the last seven games! 👊

An extra game on Sunday morning for our U12s who played a friendly T20 at Ombersley.

Having won the toss and elected to bat, we took the opportunity to make some changes to our usual batting order with Owain and Yuvi B opening the innings. Both looked solid early, but we then lost our first wicket. We continued to build steadily but after a couple more wickets lost, we needed to pick up the scoring rate. Jas came in at five to score another rapid 30 retired not out to give our innings some momentum. Player of the match Owain then reached his 30 retired not out and with a few late runs from Janesh and Josiah we made a below par 116 (we think!)

Our opening bowlers of Yuvi B and Janesh did a good job to keep it tight. Rayansh and Tom also bowled well with the scoring up with the rate needed. Ollie and Josiah then came on to pick up our only wickets, Ollie taking a sharp caught and bowled, and Josiah taking two in two, the first a sharp stumping by Jas and the 2nd bowled. It was also good to see Sean in just his second game stepping up with the ball after also batting up the order. Despite these highlights, the opposition reached the total required in the 15th over having exploited the short boundaries better in their innings.

So overall it was not our day but lots learnt and more experience for the lads to build from. Well done to Owain as POTM and all the lads for the positivity and togetherness they showed.
