Todayβs match at Martley might have ended in defeat for the Woodettes but there were lots of positives to take away.
Gal of the Game was Nat for a great all-round performance: two wickets in one over, a catch and 25 runs off the bat π
Shout outs too for Lisa (27) and Madi for a run out and a catch. Sixes for both Lisa and Nat π

Well done to our U12s who played out a tied game this morning against Astwood Bank CC.
Having won the toss, we chose to field first. The lads executed well with the ball, giving away fewer extras from wides and no balls than previous games, and following that up with some excellent ground fielding throughout the side. Pick of the bowlers were James (3 for 8 from 4 overs) and Yuvi (2 for 8 from 4 overs), with wickets also for Owain (1) and Jacob (2 in the final over).
This set up a run chase of 108 to win. Jacob stepped up to open with Jas and both started nicely. Jas was at his usual fluent best, retiring not out on 29. We then needed to dig in having lost a couple of wickets, with James and Ollie building a nice partnership in the middle of the innings. Each batter that came in supported Ollie, rotating the strike and picking up the occasional boundary to get us to the final over needing 6 to win.
Ollie and Owain then pushed to get us over the line with player of the match Ollie retiring on 30 not out on the penultimate ball. On the last ball Owain and Josiah scampered through to earn us a tie.
Well done boys, you should be proud of that performance. π

Just catching up with a match from earlier in the weekβ¦
The Womenβs Softball A team lost narrowly by one wicket against Cookhill.
Batting first, Coombs Wood made 67-3, with Cookhill securing the 68-run target with just one wicket remaining. The winning run was a very close possible run out, but the call went in favour of the batting team.
Amazing bowling against a good batting team with Eden bowling out two of their best batters in the first 10 balls! Eden took a further wicket, bowled, with Madi, Millie and Jo R also bowling wickets. Great to have Millie back for her first game of the season. Well batted and bowled Millie, getting a wicket and 16 runs. Jo also got a wicket and 17 runs.
It was a no brainer giving Gal of the Game to Eden with three wickets and 10 runs. πππ
The team are in action again today, travelling to Martley π
