*CHRISTMAS GALA*

As next Sunday will be our last session before the Christmas & New Year break, we will be hosting a mini-gala consisting of some fun team races similar lines to our Coronation Games held in May. The team races will be competed for across the width of the swimming pool avoiding the deep end with those children learning to swim in the learner pool remaining in the learner pool.

In order to try and organize balanced teams for the gala, if you haven’t already, please can you let the club know whether your child(ren) will be attending next week.

Please note that after next Sunday the club will break for two Sundays with swimming resuming on 7th January 2024.

*NO SWIMMING - HALF TERM*

Just a quick reminder that there will be no swimming session tomorrow, due to half term. Swimming will return the following Sunday (4th June) before the children return back to school.

🇬🇧 King’s Coronation Games 🇬🇧

As a number of families may be away this Sunday, rather than our usual lessons, the club will celebrate the King’s coronation by hosting our own Coronation Games, a series of fun team games / races.

Those swimmers whose normal lesson is in the learner pool will be grouped in one of two teams. The in-water helpers will be on hand to help those who need assistance. Those swimmers whose normal lesson is in the main pool will be grouped into three or four teams, depending on numbers, of mixed ability in the main pool.

To get an idea of numbers, if parents could email or message on here to indicate whether their child(ren) will be attending on Sunday that would be of great help in organizing teams beforehand.

Looking forward to seeing many of the children there this Sunday for a fun occasion.

*WELCOME BACK*

We hope you all had a good Easter break. This is to remind you that swimming sessions resume this Sunday 16th April.

Also, payment of £24 per child is now due.

Just a quick reminder that due to now running the club term time only, there is no swimming this evening. We will be back as usual next Sunday. Hope everyone has a good half term - see you next week!

FYI - the club will not run sessions from the Sunday after the schools close and we will return to swimming on the Sunday before children go back to school.

**WELCOME BACK**

We really hope that your children enjoyed the session this evening. It was lovely to see so many familiar faces and welcome to our new learners.

If anyone was unaware that the club has now reopened, please email or message on here if you want your child(ren) to resume swimming with our club.

**Welcome back**

We are please to announce that the club should be back up and running in the coming weeks. We are currently liaising with the leisure centre and our new volunteers to organise dates and training sessions.

Please note that the club now has a new number which can be accessed via the page. You can use this number for general enquires and for informing the club if your child(ren) can not attend a session - this can then be passed onto the helpers.

*Please note*

The club has a new telephone number. The WhatsApp contact has been linked to the page for general enquiries or if your child(ren) is already a member and cannot attend a swimming session, this can be used as a quick and easy way of letting us know.

There will be an email going out at some point in the near future about the possibility of setting up a WhatsApp group for all parents of our existing members so that any information can go out to you all very quickly which will be more accessible than emails (although we will still send out emails). To be apart of the WhatsApp group, due to GDPR, we will need consent as your number will be visible to other members of the group. If this is something you do not consent to, messages via WhatsApp will still be sent out to you, but individually.

Re-opening

We are re-opening the club from Sunday 18th April as per government guidelines. Unfortunately we cannot reopen to full capacity and will still only be able to offer a limited number of spaces for the foreseeable future.

We will be in touch to detail the arrangements and proposed plans moving forward so keep an eye out on your emails.

We want to thank you all for your support and cooperation during these times and we hope that the club will be back to some sort of “normal” in the not so distant future.

*Covid-19 Update*

We hope you all had good Christmas, despite the circumstances and we wish you and your families a Happy New Year. We really hope that this crisis will start to get better soon now vaccines are available.

As you will be aware the Dudley metropolitan area along with most of the West Midlands moved to tier 4 necessitating the closure of all indoor swimming pools.

When we hear from the government that Dudley is reverting to tier 3 we will liaise with the Leisure Centre and update you on resuming swim sessions.

*COVID-19 UPDATE*

Dear Parents,

In view of the Government’s advice on social distancing earlier this week and yesterday’s announcement that schools in England will close on Friday, the club has taken the decision that all swimming lessons will cease with immediate effect. Therefore, there will be NO SWIMMING this weekend and for the foreseeable future.

Payment for Block 2 due next week will be suspended and we will advise all parents once the club is able to resume swimming.

These are unprecedented times with no timescales as to when swimming may resume, in the meantime keep safe and well.
