Sowerby Bridge Cricket Club, Women and Girls

Hello Everyone.

This message is for the Young Ladies in your life aged 8-11 (at a push 12 too).

Sowerby Bridge Cricket Club are hosting their first Roses Festival on Friday 29th August 6:30-8pm which means it is a girls only cricket tournament.

The girls don't need to have a lot of experience but are willing to play some cricket & have some fun.

As well as SBCC hosting, other clubs within the area are also hosting Roses Festivals & girls are allowed to register for as many or as few as they would like to be involved in.

As their adult, you can register their interest using the link below which will take you to all the festivals.

On the night, the kitchen, Tuck Shop & bar will be open.

Thursday 31st July sees us travel to Mytholmroyd CC play our last match of the season.
It would be lovely to have some extra support if you fancy joining us. The bar will be open 🍻
6:30pm start.

Due to tomorrow's weather forecast, we have decided that it will be too hot for the children to be running around & so we are cancelling the training session.

We look forward to seeing you all next week at our last junior training session where we are inviting parents to get involved too.

Junior Training is cancelled tonight (6th June) due to the rain.

What great rain affected match we had yesterday against the friendly Bradshaw Ladies.
We had to stop playing during the first innings due to the rain which saw us get the covers on but after a short break, they came off.
We held Bradshaw at 255 for 9 - best wicket taking total of the season so far.
We then got 264 for 4.
Great communication between the stumps, backing up whilst fielding & just general fun was had by all.
Players Players went to both Emma (bowling & fielding skills) & Shaks (fielding & batting skills).

Wednesday 21st May saw us won our first match of the season 🥳
It was a very close game with SBCC beating the lovely Blackley Ladies by just 4 runs.
Having only taken two wickets in our previous match, it saw us triple our overall wickets taken as we took 4 that night.
