Keith's funeral will be held on the 22nd of September at 12pm at park Wood crematorium Elland with drinks and food at the shay stadium afterwards .

It is with great sadness Keith Marshall passed away this morning surrounded by his family at home .He will be sadly missed.

The final match of this years series was held last night at Copley, with presentation to the league winners at the conveniently situated Volunteers Arms afterwards.
Thanks from me to all who attended and made it a pleasure to organise and run. Thanks to the Hebden and Ryburn clubs for the use of their waters, and to Jewsons of Halifax for their generous sponsorship.
Having resurrected the league post covid, and running it for 3 years, I've decided it's time to step down and let someone else take over the reins. So next year will see some changes. Watch this space (or actually watch someone elses' space !!)

Last nights 8th round of the league was fished at the park, Hebden Bridge, which is near back to normal water level, and it fished well for a few skimmers and plenty of Roach. We have now reached the stage when participants drop the first of their worst results. (best 7 from 10 to count at the end of the league) So the points start to alter somewhat.

Last nights match was at Tenterfields.
Prior to the match we had a good look at the length to determine if it was safe to fish (from the fishes perspective) in light of the recent heavy mortalities caused by oxygen depletion. There were a number of dead Pike, and small Perch, but there was plenty of evidence of Roach which were not distressed, but feeding confidently, so we went ahead with the match.
it turned into a pretty dour affair with tiny Roach feeding, but not abundantly, and only one weight over 1lb. Result:

Last nights match was on the park length at Hebden Bridge. This short length was at a considerably reduced level, the deepest part being just over 2 foot deep, making fishing difficult. Despite this, the winner managed to make the most of this prolific stretch, taking 15 Skimmers and a few roach for a superb weight. Well done Tom. Result:

Results from last nights third round, held at Luddenden Foot. Following a nice sunny day, it was a surprisingly chilly evening. No bream or Skimmers to bolster this weeks weights, and it was a match of 2 sides. Plenty of small roach on the Hebden side of the bridge, with the top 3 coming from those 6 pegs, the winner having 112 small roach. On the Sowerby side of the bridge it was a different story with 3 blanks and only one weight over 1lb
