Anyone who's used the Rochdale Canal around Hebden Bridge and Todmorden, whether just getting around or linking up the trails, will have experienced the 'fun' of these weir crossings. And sometimes you just don't want a wet arse
They're finally looking at improving them so please make sure they do it properly and feed in to the consultation here:
Kilnhurst Weir Improvements
What is the project? Calderdale Council have been working with the Canal & River Trust and their partners Arcadis to investigate Kilnhurst Weir which is part of the Rochdale Canal. The weirs on the Rochdale Canal make up a small part of the canal towpath, which are

TRAIL ACCESS WIN!
Norland Moor news: it's been a long time coming, but the council have agreed to remove the bylaw prohibiting cycling there, effective immediately.
There will also be a new action plan for the moor and annual user surveys. Next time you're riding there, enjoy knowing that you've got every right to be there.

Yes , this is so good!
How can we let languish without any built facilities of this type - totally at odds with its reputation as a riding destination and stated aims to get people active. Time we step up, but we’ll need your help . Rider-managed permissive trails also badly needed!

Yes please!
Far fetched but worth a try…
BHS members and supporters may be interested to hear about a government petition which calls for footpaths, off-road cycle routes, and bridleways to be de-restricted and turned into public rights of way accessible to pedestrians, horses, and bicycles.
These proposed changes aim to reduce the amount of time that horse riders spend on potentially dangerous public highways. Should the petition reach 10,000 supporters then a formal response from the government would be required.
