We’re currently in our Earn It Back block and the pic above features one of our most interesting age groups, 4-5. We’d been teaching them the importance of teamwork and “earning it back” for your team if you lose it.
When we sat down at the end of the session to go over some of the coaching points, we saw this amazing pic that caught our orange hearts 🧡 .
We always speak about building confidence but it’s these moments we love just as much! 🫶
A bit of Fun… ⚽🧡
Most of you will know Coach Miles Smith…
But have you heard of singer Myles Smith? 🎤
A huge thank you to Myles Smith UK for being such a good sport and to BBC Radio 1 for having us on.
Just one question left to answer… 👀
How many Miles is Miles from Myles? 🤔
Every session, we ask our Superstars to step outside their comfort zone.
To try something hard. To back themselves when they’re not sure. To say yes before they know how.
So when a sibling looked up at Coach Miles and asked —
“Can you do a one-handed cartwheel?”
There was really only one answer.
“Course I can.”
What followed… you’ll have to watch to find out. 😂🟠
We ask a lot of our Superstars.
Turns out their siblings ask a lot back 😀.
Not just a football coach… sometime Olympic gymnasts 😉
Wouldn’t have it any other way. 🙌🟠
⚽🧡 At the start of every session… we have free play.
The grown ups see footballs flying everywhere.
Children running.
Friends laughing.
But look a little closer…
For some, it’s playing with their grown up.
For some, it’s time with friends.
For this little superstar…
it became a lesson in striking a football with Coach Miles.
Two minutes earlier?
Everything was off the toes 😅
Wonderful power.
Wrong technique.
So we slowed it down.
A little roll…
a touch to the side…
toes down. Strike through the ball.
A tiny adjustment.
Because Rome wasn’t built in a day…
and neither is confidence.
Not always in the main session…
Sometimes it’s built quietly…
In the free play. 🧡⚽

Everyone else saw a child doing a stretch.
We saw a boundary being broken.
A body being understood for the very first time. A mind quietly learning that discomfort isn’t danger — it’s just the feeling of getting better.
You might see a warm-up.
We see a child who just discovered what their body can do. That upside-down moment of realisation — I can do this — that’s what we’re actually coaching.
The world is full of people who never bent far enough to see it differently.
Not this Superstar. 🟠
