Solent Sports FC: Womens Teams

11/09/2026

We’d like to wish our goalkeeper, Liv Walcroft, every success as she leaves us to join the Royal Navy. ⚓️

It’s easy to say that we’re like a family—but we really are, and we’re bloody proud of you, Liv.

Liv has been with us from the very start, and it’s been an absolute pleasure watching her grow in confidence, both as a goalkeeper and as a person.

We’re going to miss having you around, but we know you have a brilliant future ahead of you. Go and smash this next adventure—you’ll always be part of the Solent family. ❤️💛

Good luck, Liv! 🫡⚓️

We’re looking for the final pieces of the jigsaw.
A keeper, CB and CF but all positions can be supported.

A bit about Solent, we have three teams, two based in Portsmouth and one in Hamble, the teams work together to drive the club forward.
Strong coaching team including a great physio and 4G training facilities.
The teams have a very diverse mix of ages and new players are welcome regardless of ability or experience.

We still have a few spaces on our teams. If you want to come along and get involved nows the best time.

Teams in Hamble and Portsmouth.

Solent Sports Chairman Steve Fletcher joined industry leaders Ryan Maye (coach with Swansea, Aston Villa and Rangers), Izzy Brand (Manchester United), and Jack Davis (Middlesex in the Community) at the Spond Manchester Social 2026.

The panel explored how grassroots and elite sport can learn from one another, the challenges of growing sustainable clubs, and the vital role volunteers and coaches play in keeping community sport alive.

It was a fantastic opportunity to share Solent Sports’ journey—from a small recreational football session to one of the UK’s largest community football organisations—and to discuss the importance of building clubs that put people, wellbeing and community at the heart of everything they do.

A huge thank you to Spond for the invitation and for bringing together so many passionate people committed to improving grassroots sport.

Time to get back on the pitch.
We’re starting to evolve as a club and that means bringing the Portsmouth and Hamble teams closer together and having that proper one club feel.

Next season will see us restructure our teams to make them much more competitive and get back on track.

💪Rangers- Selected from the strongest most competitive players from both Hamble and Portsmouth.

⚓️Alliance- Portsmouth based team.

🔥Mercury- Hamble based team.

If we have enough players we will look to put a fourth team into the league.

➕Plus we’re forming a number of new recreational teams playing in the new womens recreational league. This will be a fantastic place for players to play on for longer and help develop new players into the club.

So if you want to get involved just drop us a message and we’ll get you along to training.
