This is my Monday motivation, my everyday motivation, my reason I do it!

This is the reason why you will find me in the gym at 6am training or you will see me walking the streets even in the rain to keep myself moving.

I enjoy the mental break it gives me, also I enjoy the environment and the industry or I wouldn't have made it my career.

The main reason! To be strong and healthy to be able to play football, or go to the park (even though I hate play parks) to be able to chase them around the living room furniture or to beat them in a race back to the house when we have walked to the shops because I won't let them win easy 😂😂

If you are a parent you will understand the struggles of providing for your kids, working, taking them to the after school clubs and also trying to be active.

When days are hard and the 5.30am alarm is going off for the gym sometimes you need to remind yourself about the reason why you do it.

This is the most natural movement… a deep squat. Having never been taught the movement, this is a 1 year old with probably the deepest squat you will ever see.

When it comes to everyday life our flexibility in our hips, lower back and hamstrings are the reason we can’t get a deep squat. This is due to a lifestyle of sitting at a desk all day and then coming home to sit on the couch at night.

How do you fix this?

Functional training exercises like Deadlift, Squats, Rows, Farmers Carries, Lunges, Bench Press and Pull ups.
These exercises mimic everyday movements and improve flexibility throughout these range of motions. Add in some NEAT like walking throughout your day and you’ll be laughing!

If you feel that you need to improve your flexibility and movement I have 2 peak time slots for One to One/Two to One PT

We tell our kids to eat their veggies, drink water, and get plenty of exercise… but how often do we forget to follow our own advice? 🥦💧🏃‍♀️
Between school runs, kids’ clubs, homework, work deadlines, and everything else in between — it’s easy for parents to put themselves last. But here’s the thing: sometimes the best lesson our kids can learn is watching us look after ourselves.
💡 When they see you making time to move your body, preparing nourishing meals, or even just pausing to recharge, they learn that health and self-care matter at every age.
It’s not about being perfect. It’s about showing them balance, resilience, and the importance of looking after the one body they’ll ever have.
So next time you feel guilty for carving out time for a workout or a healthy meal — remember, you’re not just doing it for you… you’re teaching your kids a lifelong habit.

I'm sure many of you are in the same boat as me. You are tired, over stimulated and struggling to keep the kids entertained.

You have walked the legs off the kids, seen every play park in a 10 mile radius and had about 3 hours sleep each night since the summer holidays started.

Getting out to the gym can be difficult so here is a 10 min blast workout that will help you keep active during the holidays.

You are failing because you signed up for too much.

3 PT sessions a week sounds great and the results should in theory be amazing, then the week hits you and the kids are on holiday with no childcare so your first session gets cancelled because you can't go. Session number 2 is fast approaching and you have forgotten you invited one of the school friends and their parents round for an afternoon, things got delayed and they only turn up an hour before you had to leave for your session and it would be rude to turn them away after inviting them so session 2 was rescheduled for later in the week. Session 3 then gets moved thanks to a quick 8 hour trip to a&e because kids get into all sorts of bother during the holidays and the week ends with no sessions, no time to follow your nutrition plan and the inevitable, "i've had a bad week, so diet starts monday" chat begins to excuse the lack of focus over the weekend.

how do I suggest you combat that. Hybrid Training.

Hybrid training is a flexible form of training where you commit a set amount of PT sessions and gym workouts per week. carried out in the time that suits you but also with the flexibility for change should something come up.

I have offered Hybrid training for the last 5 years, as it works best for parents.

pick 1 session a week, 1 session per 2 weeks or 1 per month, then commit to 2 or 3 in gym workouts per week

Why does this work? it frees up some finances to pay for a gym membership as its cheaper than 3 sessions a week with a PT, it gives the flexibility of working out when the kids are being looked after or if you have a 24 hour gym membership when the kids are in bed, or even before work. It also gives you and your PT more flexibility to rearrange sessions if they have to be cancelled because you arent tied into 12 sessions a month with them.

Hybrid training is a busy parents dream, you get all the workouts, nutrition and support you need with added flexibilty and a better chance of reaching your goals.
