Hampton Rangers are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Frank Thompson, General Secretary of the Surrey Youth League.

Frank was a true stalwart of the league, dedicating many years of service to youth football. His commitment and contribution helped create opportunities for thousands of young people across Surrey and the surrounding areas, leaving a lasting legacy within the grassroots football community.

As requested, Hampton Rangers will be observing a minute’s silence this Sunday in honour of Frank and in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the game.

Our heartfelt thoughts and condolences are with Frank’s family and friends, as well as everyone at the Surrey Youth League and Surrey Women and Girls League, at this very sad time.

Rest in peace, Frank. Thank you for everything you gave to youth football.

We have launched fundraiser for Jeremy Wright family

Jeremy a Hampton Rangers vet and Saturday morning dad passed away on Wednesday whilst at training ground
We will donate all monies raised to family to decide themselves what they wish to do with it, whether to charity or family or both

To maximise donations, we will not be using a gofundme page but simply pay into Hampton Rangers Veterans account

CLUB STATEMENT FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Last night Hampton Rangers veteran & Saturday morning dad Jeremy Wright had a fatal incident whilst playing football, despite prompt action from defibrillator being applied immediately and CPR by emergency services

Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family at this very sad time

Whilst we continue to process, as a mark of respect, Oldfield Road training ground will be closed Thursday/Friday & Saturday mornings

Further updates will be posted in due course

It was great to see so many children back playing football this morning. Despite the sudden downpour it was happy faces all round from players. parents and managers.

Great support for the cafe today too.

Next week sees the return of our development section and the first league games for our new under 9 and 10 Yellows team.
We look forward to hearing all about it !

We’re so excited to welcome all of our players and families back for the 2026/27 season this Sunday! 🎉

Before the matches get underway, we’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our amazing volunteer managers, coaches and assistants who have signed up for another season. Your time, commitment and dedication mean so much, and we genuinely couldn’t do this without you. 💛

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 A little reminder for our parents…
Football is a kids’ game — so please let them enjoy it! ⚽❤️
We’re all here to have fun, support the children and watch them develop. Please remember that mistakes, missed passes and decisions we don’t agree with are all part of the game.
We ask everyone to keep emotions under control and support positively from the sidelines. We want the children to enjoy playing without feeling pressured by what’s happening around them.

We will be taking a firm approach to inappropriate behaviour from parents and spectators this season. Please help us keep Hampton Rangers a positive, friendly and welcoming place for everyone.

🏡 Please respect our neighbours when arriving and leaving the ground, and be considerate when parking. We really appreciate your cooperation.

Our new under 10s team have space for 2 more players to join them for the 26/27 season.

Training on a Thursday evening 6-7 at our own 3G training ground in Oldfield Road. Matches are played on a Sunday.

Hampton Rangers Juniors is a youth football club providing organised matches for boys and girls aged 6-18.

We are an England accredited club and completely volunteer run.

We pride ourselves on our football for all ethos, meaning children are not streamed,placed in ability groups or trialled.

We also have fantastic open sessions on a Saturday morning for boys and girls aged from 4-13. To find out more about them head over to our website and click the join us tab.
