HANSLOPE BEAT LOCAL RIVALS TO CAP OFF SEASON!
Hanslope CC ended the 2026 cricket season with a 3 wicket win against local rivals Castlethorpe in a 35 over friendly. Castlethorpe won the toss and opted to bat first in overcast conditions and made a poor start with Kush trapped LBW by Snowy without touching the score. Josh Taylor, who bowled well all afternoon soon bought the 2nd wicket, with Orchard nicking behind to Anderson for 12.
Jones and Shay put on an 83 run partnership to anchor the innings for Castlethorpe, until a mixup in the middle bought about a run out.
Giffin's introduction to the attack was a great ploy by Captain Snowy, Giff getting 3 wickets from his 4 overs aswell as a run out following another piece of lacklustre "Thrup" running.
Then saw Furqan and Shay who ended on 92*, add 71 for the 8th wicket as the innings ended on 215.
Hanslope didnt get off to the best of starts in the chase either. Jay and Snowy falling cheaply for 3 and 4 respectively off the bowling of Kush who bowled well in his spell. Then Ben Ritchie took centre stage, his innings of 103, including 11 fours and a six (his maiden century), well supported by Naren (38) Anderson (12) and Taylor (24*) took Hanslope to a brilliant victory, with Will Ritchie and Josh Taylor scurrying through for a bye to win with 4 balls to spare.
