What an incredible week at our Summer Dance Course! ✨
We are so unbelievably proud of every single one of the children. They have worked so hard all week, learned so much in such a short space of time, and then absolutely smashed both shows today! 🌟
The energy, confidence and commitment they brought to the stage was amazing to see. Watching them perform everything they had learned this week made us incredibly proud.

A huge thank you also needs to go to everyone who helped make the week and shows possible.

❤️ Natalie & Jess – thank you for all your hard work with the costumes and helping make the children look fantastic on stage.

🔨 Richard, Adam and all of the other parents who helped with the stage build and get-out – we really could not have done it without you. Thank you for giving up your time and getting stuck in!

💃 Maddison & Mackenzie – thank you for your brilliant work with our Group 1 children and for all of the fantastic choreography throughout the week. The children absolutely loved working with you both.

🌟 Poppy – a huge thank you for all your help this year. Your support has been really appreciated.

And finally, thank you to all of our parents for your continued
support throughout the week. It really does take a team to make something like this happen.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Makin’ Steps pupil Naomi Mae Laing has joined the London cast of Matilda The Musical as part of its Class of 2026/27!

Naomi has been part of the Makin’ Steps family since she was just three years old, training across Musical Theatre, Ballet, Street Dance, modern and Singing.
This fantastic achievement reflects Naomi’s talent, commitment and years of hard work—and we couldn’t be prouder of her.

No performing arts school can promise a West End role. What we can promise is expert training, encouragement, performance opportunities and a place where every pupil can grow in confidence and discover what they are capable of.

🎉 Makin’ Steps Non-Uniform Week!

📅 Monday 13th July – Saturday 18th July

⚽ Wear your favourite football shirt or football-themed outfit.

👕 No football shirt? No problem! Any non-uniform is absolutely fine.

💃 Just make sure it’s suitable for dancing in.

💷 Only £1 per pupil, no matter how many classes they attend that day.

Every £1 raised will go towards our future Makin’ Steps productions, helping us continue to put on incredible shows for all of our pupils.

Let’s turn Makin’ Steps red and white this week and get behind the Three Lions as they chase World Cup glory! 🏆

Due to the current red heat alert in the UK, we have made the decision to close classes today and tomorrow for the safety and well-being of both pupils and staff.

Our classes are physically active, and with the extreme temperatures, we do not feel it would be safe or sensible to run sessions as normal. The safety of our pupils and staff must always come first.

Please be assured that these classes will be rescheduled, and we will send out further information as soon as possible with the new arrangements.

Class will resume as normal on Saturday, 27th June.

What a fantastic evening at tonight’s Makin Steps Open Mic Night!

A huge congratulations to all the pupils who sang their hearts out — and even to a certain parent who got up to do a turn!

It was so lovely seeing everyone enjoying themselves and supporting each other’s performances. 🎭
