πββοΈ Yorkshire Swimming Development Programme β Camp 2 a Success! πββοΈ
The second Yorkshire Aquatics Swimming Development Programme camp, held last weekend, has been hailed a huge success, bringing together 36 talented swimmers for a day of learning, development, and inspiration at York Sports Village.
The programme combined pool training, strength & conditioning, and educational workshops covering topics such as nutrition, mental health, and athlete lifestyle β all designed to support swimmers both in and out of the water.
π A highlight of the camp was a visit from Olympic medallist James Wilby, who shared insights from his journey and inspired athletes and coaches alike.
π A huge well done to all swimmers, coaches, and staff who made the camp such a positive and valuable experience.

π North East Athletes Shine at AP Race London International 2026 π
Last month, Swim England North East swimmers delivered an outstanding weekend of racing at the AP Race London International, going head-to-head with some of the worldβs best athletes at the iconic London Aquatics Centre πͺ
With 40 athletes aged 17+ competing, the team secured an impressive number of finals appearances, junior medals, and standout Super Final performances, showcasing the strength and depth of talent across our region.
π A huge well done to all swimmers, coaches, and support staff who demonstrated incredible resilience, teamwork, and professionalism throughout a challenging but rewarding weekend.
This is another important step in supporting our athletes on their aquatic journey.

Great session yesterday at the North East Girls Academy in Maltby! πͺ
Fantastic effort from everyone, from our 2015 trialists to our OAP 2009s.
Juniors worked on legs, man-up, ball line press, and releasing, while seniors took on a tough leg fitness and tactical gameplay session.

Another great Festival of Aquatics in the North East, great work everyone! It's amazing to see so many young people trying new things, having fun, making great memories with old and new friends supported by our fantastic community of volunteer Coaches, Team Managers and poolside helpers π€©. A huge thank you to everyone who attended the Northumberland & Durham Festival of Aquatics today!
From spectacular Artistic Swimming performances, incredible Diving displays, and fast-paced Water Polo action, it was fantastic to see so many young people experiencing the wide range of opportunities available within aquatic sport.
A special thank you to all of our athletes, coaches, volunteers, officials, clubs, parents and supporters who helped make the event such a success. Your enthusiasm, dedication and passion created an unforgettable day for everyone involved.
We hope all participants enjoyed trying something new, developing new skills and discovering just how exciting aquatic sports can be.
Thank you also to our partners and supporters, Tesco and everyone who contributed to making the festival possible.
The future of aquatic sport in Northumberland and Durham is bright, and we canβt wait to see where todayβs participants go next!
