Hey everyone! I’m teaching yoga by the lake at Harewood house this Saturday at 10am if you or anyone you know might be interested!
Meet at the Arch Barn on the grounds of Harewood Holistics at 10am. Then we’ll take a lovely 15 minute walk to a secluded location by the lake where we’ll do and hour of yoga and connecting to nature. Then 15 minute walk back to the studio or feel free to wal around the grounds as you please.

If you’re feeling like your mind and your heart are not connecting, you may need to open your throat. 🤔
Vishuddha (throat) chakra is located at the centre of your neck and when it is blocked we experience miscommunication, arguments, tension at work or at home, shyness, I could go on and on.
When we open and stimulate this chakra the balance can also result in a clearer mind and happier heart. We’ve cleared the way for the heart and head to reconnect. We feel lighter, more open to solving problems and more understanding and compassionate with the people around us.
Chin stand, in my opinion, is the mother-of-all throat opening poses. It also opens your heart, stimulates blood flow, strengthens the back body, arms and chest, while lengthening the front of your body from your chin to your toes. 😉 The stretch in your neck helps to release any blockages, getting rid of stagnant energy.
Not ready to flip those feet to the sky? That’s ok there are other ways to open the throat such as, knees-chest-chin and their variations (see videos), camel, wheel pose and shoulder stand are great as well. Try some out and see what you think! Happy practising!

Homework: try to become aware of every time you feel competitive, brag, perform or get down on yourself for not achieving something. Whether it be mastering a yoga pose, making a team, getting a promotion, etc. Does it bring you lasting joy?
Make an effort to sit in the in between moments where observation, gratitude and mindfulness happens. Rather than exhausting ourselves for an outcome, sit in the stillness and remember/realise what you have achieved, where you are and what you have, now. Exist in the present every once in awhile and check in.
