All coffee mornings are held in the playroom between SCBU and Woodlands ward. To access this - when you arrive, come via the antenatal entrance to the hospital, take the road ramp up to the small car park, walk through the carpark, keeping the building on your left. Don't leave the car park, but bear left and follow the building round, keeping it on your left. You will soon arrive at the outdoor play area and a locked gate - please wait here and we will come and let you in. Also, for those bringing prams - please bring waterproof covers for them in case the weather is bad as we are limited on indoor storage space

Another lovely support group today, and some of our babies enjoyed having their feet painted for a belated Father’s Day gift 👣 💕 We hope all our wonderful SCBU Dad’s had a lovely day yesterday celebrating Fathers Day and the incredible job you all do 🥰

One of our mummys has recently become a milk donor. I have asked her to send us some information incase it is something anyone else would like to do ❤️

I started by completing the “Become a Donor” form on the Chester Milk Bank website. They then called me to ask a few routine questions, such as my baby's age, whether I drink alcohol or smoke, and whether I'm taking any medications.

After that, they sent me a Donor Record Form, which I completed and returned. Once they receive the form, they send out a donor pack and blood test kit. I then need to have a blood test, send off the blood sample, and provide a sample of breast milk.

They've already supplied me with bottles, microwave steriliser bags, and postage bags. I also need to record my freezer temperature daily (they can provide a thermometer if you don't already have a digital one).

Once the milk has been expressed and frozen, couriers collect it and deliver it to their depots.

It’s all been a very straightforward process so far.

Our Summer Fair is tomorrow!

It's not really feeling very summery with this weather at the moment but we will make you feel fab with our warm welcome, fun games, bouncy castle, face painting, tea, coffee, cakes!

All monies raised going straight to Harrogate hospital to make improvements to the Special Care Baby Unit and Children's Ward!

Sweetie cones have been made ready for this weekends summer fair! Wonderful tombola and raffle donations are being collected! Tea and coffee has been donated! It's all shaping up to be a wonderful weekend :) we can't wait to see you all on Sunday!
