Harrow Shotokan Karate

As well as teaching karate 5 days a week, Sensei Shyam, our Chief Instructor, also owns a security company.

As part of his License, he has to do Physical Intervention Training which is approved by the Home Office.

Some of the things that were taught...

Avoid going to the ground.
Most violent situations are in confined spaces or on concrete. Going to the ground leaves you exposed.

If you do go to the ground, get back up as quick as possible.

Kicks are not advised.

The rest of the Home Office approved training took techniques from Heian Shodan, Heian Godan, Bassai Dai, Kanku Dai and Jion.

At JKS Harrow, we teach practical martial arts and self defence.

Sensei Shyam still works regularly supporting his security staff, and still deals with the real dangers of street violence.

Only last week, dealing with mass brawls between rival football fans including glasses and chairs used as weapons.

Over 26 years working some of London's roughest clubs...he's dealt with drug gangs, knives and guns and well as group violence.

The London course with Daisuke Watanabe Sensei is only 2 weeks away!!

When - Friday 12th June

Where - John Lyon Prep School, Hindes Road, Harrow, HA1 1RX

Time - 6pm tp 7pm and 7pm to 9pm

Cost - £15 for Session 1, £30 for session 2, both sessions £40.

Transport - Harrow on the Hill. 8 mins walk. Harrow and Wealdstone station, 15 mins walk.

Parking - St Georges Shopping Centre 7 mins walk or Single Yellow lines after 6.30pm
