๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ’™ Learn to Swim Week โ€“ Day 7: Open Water Swimming ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒŠ

Swimming outdoors can be an amazing experience but open water is very different from the swimming pool ๐ŸŠโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ

From changing weather conditions to currents, cold water, and visibility, itโ€™s so important to be prepared before entering the water.

Remember to:
๐Ÿ–๏ธ Know your beach and water safety flags
๐ŸŒฆ๏ธ Check weather and water conditions
๐Ÿ“ Tell someone where youโ€™re going and when youโ€™ll be back
๐Ÿฆบ Wear bright colours and take something buoyant with you
๐Ÿ“ž In an emergency, call 999 never put yourself at risk by entering the water

At Swimkidz, we believe water safety education is just as important as learning to swim. Confidence in the water starts with understanding how to stay safe in different environments ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ’™ Learn to Swim Week โ€“ Day 6: First Aid Myth Busting ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒŠ

Thereโ€™s a lot of first aid advice out thereโ€ฆ but not all of it is correct ๐Ÿ‘€

From nosebleeds to burns, water incidents to suspected spinal injuries, knowing the right thing to do in an emergency can make a huge difference. Thatโ€™s why learning basic first aid and water safety knowledge is so important for parents, carers, and swimmers alike.

Today weโ€™re busting some common myths and sharing safer, up-to-date advice to help keep everyone safer in and out the water ๐Ÿฉน๐Ÿซง

Because water confidence isnโ€™t just about swimming, itโ€™s also about knowing how to respond in an emergency ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ’™ Learn to Swim Week โ€“ Day 5: Training More Teachers ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒŠ

Did you know there is a national shortage of swimming teachers? ๐ŸŠโ€โ™€๏ธ Thatโ€™s why itโ€™s more important than ever to train, support and grow passionate people who can help keep children safe and confident in the water.

We are incredibly proud of our incredible team. They pour so much passion, knowledge, patience and planning into every single lesson. Teaching swimming isnโ€™t just a job for them, itโ€™s something they genuinely care about ๐Ÿ’™

Being part of the Swimkidz team is so much more than teaching children to swim. Itโ€™s about:
โœจ Being part of a fun, supportive team
๐ŸŒŠ Teaching the most valuable life skill
๐Ÿค Building trust with children and their families
๐Ÿ’™ Creating strong relationships with parents and little ones
๐ŸŠโ€โ™€๏ธ Watching swimmers grow from birth to advanced level
โญ Having one of the most rewarding jobs out there

๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒŠ Learn to Swim Week โ€“ Day 4: Swimming Around the World ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒ

Did you know beach flags tend to be similar but arenโ€™t always exactly the same everywhere in the world? ๐Ÿ–๏ธ

Beach flag systems are generally consistent worldwide, especially for key colours,
but always check local signs when abroad. While many countries use flags to help keep swimmers safe, the meanings can vary depending on where you are so itโ€™s really important to always check the local system before entering the water.

Thatโ€™s why one of the most important water safety skills we teach is awareness. helping swimmers understand that safety signs and signals can change from place to place ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ’™

Before you swim anywhere in the world, always look for local safety information and flags. Theyโ€™re there to help keep you safe ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ‘ถ๐ŸŒŠ Learn To Swim Week Day 3 - Baby swimming & The Importance of Play ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ‘ถ

In our very first lessons, we gently introduce parents and little ones to how to play in the water in a calm, positive and reassuring way ๐Ÿ’™ From there, play becomes a key part of every stage of learning right through to our most advanced swimmers.

Play isnโ€™t โ€œjust funโ€, itโ€™s fundamental to a childโ€™s development ๐Ÿง  Through play, babies and children build confidence, coordination, water awareness, and trust in the waterโ€ฆ and letโ€™s be honest, we all learn better when weโ€™re having fun! ๐Ÿ˜„

Thatโ€™s why our lessons are filled with songs, games and activities carefully designed for each age and milestone, helping little ones get the very most out of every session while learning essential water skills without even realising it.

Because in the water, play is learning ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿซง

๐ŸŒŠ Learn to Swim Week โ€“ Day 2 ๐ŸŒŠ
Today weโ€™re focusing on one of the most important things you can learn: understanding the water and how to stay safe in and around it ๐Ÿ’™

Swimming lessons arenโ€™t only about learning front crawl backstroke and breaststoke, theyโ€™re about learning how water works, how our bodies move through it, and how to stay calm and confident in different situations.

One of the most important parts of our teaching is personal survival skills ๐Ÿ›Ÿ
These are built into every stage of learning. From our tiniest babies right through to our most advanced swimmers. That means children are learning how to float, regain breath, and stay safe in the water from their very first lessons, and continuing to develop those skills as they grow. Learning the water safety code is part of our structured program!

Because real confidence in the water isnโ€™t just about swimming wellโ€ฆ itโ€™s about knowing what to do if things donโ€™t go to plan.

๐ŸŒŠ Learn to Swim Week โ€“ Day 1 ๐ŸŒŠ
Today weโ€™re celebrating how swimming supports wellbeing and mindfulness ๐Ÿ’™

Swimming is more than just a life skill, it helps you to feel calm, confident, and happy while creating special moments in the water. From reducing stress to improving sleep and encouraging mindfulness, time spent swimming benefits both body and mind.

Thereโ€™s something truly special about switching off from busy routines and simply enjoying the water ๐Ÿซงโœจ
