Victory Athletic Club is open to adults of all ages and abilities, from the super-fast to the steady jogger and complete beginner.

We mainly enjoy running for fun and health. The emphasis of the club is on improving fitness in a sociable atmosphere.

🐗 THE BEAST 🐗

A huge well done to our six Victory runners who took on The Beast this weekend!

Ian, Nicola, Raman, Rachel, Janeet and Darrelle tackled 12½-ish miles of tough Dorset trails in some VERY warm weather! ☀️⛰️

Starting and finishing on Corfe Common, the route takes in woodland paths, grassy tracks and plenty of challenging climbs and descents.

At the finish, there were purple Beast T-shirts, a well-earned picnic, cake and fizz – including an early celebration for Darrelle’s 50th birthday this Wednesday! 🎂🥂

☀️Hayling Relay 2026

Every year, VAC members take on our Hayling Relay, raising money for local charities – and getting a few strange looks running around the island carrying wooden spoons! 🥄

A firm favourite in the club calendar, there’s always plenty of laughs, questionable navigation choices and the occasional unexpected tumble…

🏆 Big congratulations to Team 2, this year’s winners!

A huge thank you to Jan for organising, and to everyone who ran, volunteered, captained, drove and cheered. Days like this really show the time and heart our members put into VAC 🏃‍♀️

🏃 Victory AC at Southsea parkrun!

Last Saturday, a group headed down to one of our local events, Southsea parkrun, for a 5K along the seafront – followed, of course, by a well-earned breakfast afterwards! ☕🍳

They also spotted a familiar face – Paul Sinton-Hewitt, founder of parkrun, who started the very first event at Bushy Park back in 2004!

From chasing PBs and milestones to volunteering, parkrun tourism or simply enjoying a social Saturday morning 5K, it’s brilliant to see so many of our members embracing the parkrun community week after week 🌳

A big thank you to the Southsea parkrun volunteers for making it happen every Saturday! 👏

We’re delighted to share that, thanks to everyone’s support at this year’s Hayling Billy 5 Race, we raised an incredible £2850.

The money has been donated to a number of fantastic local charities, including Alfie’s Arc. This morning, we had the pleasure of presenting their donation.

Based in Havant, Alfies Arc CIC provides vital support to local people through food parcels, community initiatives and mental health support, making a real difference to those who need it most.

A huge thank you to everyone who entered, volunteered and supported the race. It’s fantastic to see the Hayling Billy 5 Race making a real difference for local charities and the people they support.

🌳 Thursday night trails

A few weeks ago, our Thursday training session took us on a scenic 10k loop from Rowlands Castle through the beautiful Stansted Estate. 🌿

It was a warm evening with plenty of hills, woodland paths and good company – a great reminder that not every run has to be about chasing a PB!

Thanks to everyone who came along. We can’t wait for more summer evening adventures. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Race 4 of our Short Handicap series!

The monthly 5K handicap race, where staggered starts give everyone a chance of crossing the line together - this always makes for a fun evening.

There’s nothing quite like spotting Victory vests ahead and seeing if you can catch them!

A slightly questionable choice from a few of our members on Wednesday evening… 🥵☀️

With temperatures soaring and a red heat warning in place, we still headed to Race 2 of the Lakeside 5K Series.

It was definitely not a night for PBs, and a couple of us were more than happy to bring up the rear! 😅 The before and after photos tell the story better than we ever could…

A great turnout of Victory runners and volunteers at Fareham parkrun yesterday! ☀️

Stunning weather, a fantastic morning, and the perfect spot for a post-run coffee and chat.

We couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday morning. 🏃‍♀️☕🏃‍♂️

Stunning views across the water, near-perfect conditions and 300 runners on the start line made for a fantastic evening at this year’s Hayling Billy 5.

Looking through these photos, one thing stands out above everything else – the smiles! Whether you were chasing a PB, competing for a prize, or simply enjoying a summer evening run, it was great to see so many people enjoying the course and supporting one another.

🙌 A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the race possible, including our club volunteers, Hayling Island Community Responders,The Station Theatre, Hayling , Time My Race , and Alexandra Sports for their support and generosity.

A special shout out to Amber and our Race Director Gary for the many hours of planning and organisation that go into making an event like this happen.

We’re delighted to announce that this year’s Hayling Billy 5 has officially sold out!

Thank you to everyone who has entered. We’re looking forward to welcoming 330 runners to Hayling Island for another fantastic evening on the Billy Trail.

Whether you’re racing, volunteering or coming along to support, we can’t wait to see you there.
