JUNIOR CRICKET PRESENTATION EVENING 2026
Our evening started with the Under 9s, coached by Craig Robertson, Phil Cockburn, Lenny Rees & Ed Partridge. With 31 youngsters we were able to send at least 2 teams to each of the 9 Cricket Festivals. Craig & Phil mentioned each child’s individual skills & said how every one of them had improved enormously. We have 31 Under 9s at the moment & the majority turn up every Thursday evening for training so, a big β€˜Thank you’ to our hardworking coaches. It has been a very enjoyable season & we are all looking forward to 2027. Medals were then given to the delighted young cricketers.
Thank you to Marc Devonald of MD Heating & Plumbing for your continued sponsorship of our U9s cricket tops.

The Girls U12s, coached by Lauren Sutton, have had a fantastic season. We were delighted to welcome four new players to the team this year, who have settled in brilliantly and become a huge part of our squad.
Lauren then took us through the season’s match reports, looking back at our games against Narberth, Whitland, Haverfordwest, Cresselly and Lamphey. There have been some fantastic performances, plenty of learning, lots of improvement and, most importantly, plenty of smiles and enjoyment along the way.
To reach the semi-final is a fantastic achievement, especially considering that only two of our players were in the top age bracket this season. The rest of the squad have at least another year in the U12s & show so much potential, which makes what they have achieved even more exciting and gives us plenty to look forward to.
Lauren is incredibly proud of every single one of them and we cannot wait to see them continue to grow, develop and enjoy their cricket together.
And, of course, a very special thank you to Wendy β€” the battery that keeps our well-oiled machine moving! Without everything you do behind the scenes, we simply would not be where we are today. Your help, organisation and dedication are invaluable.
Here’s to next season β€” up the girls! πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ
U12s
Autumn Sheppard – Junior Cricketer of the Year (Coaches player)
Rose Courie - Most Improved player
Rose Courie - Players player
Pippa Howells - Parents Player

The Under 11s were coached by Ollie Rees this season. He has worked very hard with this young group & his efforts were rewarded with an all-round improvement from everyone, 2 wins in our last 2 games of the season πŸ‘πŸ‘ We have much to look forward to next season.
U11s
Max Jones – Junior Cricketer of the Year (Coaches player)
Reed Richards - Most Improved player
Pippa Howells - Players player
Joey Foster - Parents Player

The Under 13s coached by Peter Bradshaw & Kirk Trimby have had a very successful season making tremendous progress to finish 2nd in the league and qualifying for the County final. They unfortunately lost to the Cresselly Doves in the final but gave a fantastic account of themselves and only narrowly missed out.
U13s
Maddox Bradshaw & Slade Trimby – Junior Cricketers of the Year (Coaches player)
Bobby Dennison - Most Improved player
Tyrese Mtusva - Players player
Tyrese Mtusva - Parents Player

The Under 15s again coached by Pete & Kirk have had a transitional season with the side being very young and all still eligible to play again in the next few seasons. We played 5 & won 2 which was a great effort. We will look to improve on that next season as the team becomes more experienced. We have a great deal to look forward to with these youngsters.
U15s
Maddox Bradshaw – Junior Cricketer of the Year (Coaches player)
Lily-Anne McGuire & Alfie Phillpot - Most Improved players
Luca Orton - Players player

Thank you to RWE, PEMBROKE for your help with sponsoring our Junior cricket tops.

Age group Medals were presented to all the young cricketers. As were POTM awards after each game.

β€˜Thank You’ gifts were organised by each section & given to the coaches, organisers/scorers & Groundsmen. All recipients were most appreciative & thanked all concerned.

Thank you to our Groundman & pleased to say that the astroturf strip has made Stuart Carpenter’s life a lot easier, to parents, grandparents & family members for their incredible support and commitment throughout the season. From getting the children to training and matches, to cheering from the sidelines, your support & encouragement makes such a difference and is hugely appreciated.

Thank you to Mrs Georgina Llewellin, Hugh & Judith Richards & Family, Mullock Farm, K&G Sutton, Groundworks & Civil Engineering & to all who bought raffle tickets on Friday so helping to sponsor our Junior Presentation Evening.
We are so lucky to have such generous supporters.

Our grateful thanks again, to Claire Sheill for doing such a splendid job with the catering, to Anthony McGuire for ordering the medals & trophies & to Malcolm Hawkins for supplying & engraving the awards.
If anyone is interested in becoming a cricket coach, scorer or a volunteer please contact Wendy before next season if you don't ask....πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

That’s it for another year! Roll on 2027!

πŸŸ’πŸ”΅ SATURDAY’S RESULTS πŸ”΅πŸŸ’

The 1st XI travelled to Neyland, won the toss & elected to bat. Father & son, Steven (34) & Tom Williams, not so lucky this week, only managed a partenership of 19 before Tom was bowled by Sean Hannon. Only our Captain, Jonathan Pawlett (21), managed double figures & we had to settle for a poor total of 89 before being bowled out in the 30th over. In form Neyland, overtook our score in the 13th over with some excellent batting from Paul Murray & Dan Potter. So, Division 2 here we come!

Tish 2's cricket yesterday meant the end of season and a game v Haverfordwest 3's. We were asked to field and Charlie(2/29) and Maddox (3/13) were quickly into the wickets. A 1 over double wicket maiden for Ieuan saw him quickly removed from the attack as Aidan(2/25) and Luca (1/20) saw the visitors bowled out for 108 with the Welsh rugby up and coming star Harvey Thomas(24) and young Sidak Mahey(25 not out) being the main scorers.
In reply Nathan (21) returned to opening duties with Maddox, after Nathan left Ieuan (20) kept the run rate up before our stars of the future Maddox (35 not out) and Luca (13 not out) saw us home at 111 for 2.
A good season with the ever improving youngsters taking big steps to getting us oldies to sit on the bench. A mid table finish with a number of the team featuring in the top 10 stats for the league.
A big thank you to Geoff Williams for his match ball sponsorship. Some photos as usual on Kev's page https://www.facebook.com/kev.bowen.52?

πŸŸ’πŸ”΅ SATURDAY’S RESULTS πŸ”΅πŸŸ’

The 1st XI travelled to Cresselly, won the toss & elected to bat. We had an excellent opening partnership of 107 with father & son, Steven (37) & Tom Williams (51). We managed to get to 185 before all being bowled out in the 32nd over. Andy Pol had the breakthrough in the 8th over bowling Phil Williams out for 10 But despite a wicket apiece for Brennan & Tom & 2 for Steve, Cresselly overtook our score in 32nd over. So we had to be satisfied with 5 points for our afternoon's work.

🏏 2nd XI 🏏 Report by Kev Bowen
Tish 2's cricket this week meant a home game against Llechryd 2's. A high scoring game which the visitors took the win in the last over. We got asked to bat first and after an early wicket loss, a 106 partnership between Doggie and Kev got us back on track before I went for 69 ! Doggie went for a battling 33 and Ollie continued his excellent batting form before falling for 41 to a spectacular Neil Croucher catch( see photos). Stuart scored 20 as we reached 191 after 35 overs. In reply Llechryd raced to 69 before the first wicket fell, but after a couple of quick wickets Steve Smith joined opener Adam Maehrlein and they batted well to take the win in the last over and a partnership of 111. We were given a few chances but couldn't hold on to them as Adam reached his century and finished 104 not out and Steve hit the winning runs to finish 42 not out. A big thank you to Yvonne Evans for her match ball sponsorship. Only a few photos today on Kev's page https://www.facebook.com/kev.bowen.52?

πŸŸ’πŸ”΅ SATURDAY’S RESULTS πŸ”΅πŸŸ’

The 1st XI welcomed Whitland & losing the toss we were asked to bowl first. Whitland reached a very healthy total of 252 thanks to the splendid batting performances of Mathew Davies (85), Ethan Ryan (39), Jacob Hucker (30) & 2 other batsmen in their 20s. In reply we were skittled out for a mere 94 with Mathew Davies & Wayne Howells taking 4 wickets apiece.
There are two games left in the season to fight for our place in Division 1. Good Luck lads πŸ€πŸπŸπŸ

Tish 2's cricket this week meant a top of the table clash at Lawrenny. Winning the toss as usual we batted but we struggled to get going with only 36 from Stuart 15 from Owen and 11 from Ieuan were the only double figure scores in our 114 all out as Jamie Lewis was the stand out bowler with 4/19 off his 7 . In reply a wicket for Charlie and Maddox was all we could manage as the league leaders had a comfortable victory.

🏏🏏COUNTY UNDER 13s FINAL 🏏🏏
Last night our youngsters travelled to Cresselly to play the Cresselly Doves in the Final.
The Doves asked us to bat first & we reached a respectable total of 117 with good knocks from Maddox, Tyrese & Slade.
In reply, we did have the Doves a little rattled on 13 for 3 but despite Slade's figures of 4-26 & great effort in the field, we were overtaken in the 17th Over.
A tremendous Final, played in good spirit & a well-deserved win for the Cresselly Doves. Also, congratulations to Captain, Caden Jones, on being awarded Player of the Match πŸ‘πŸ‘
That's it for another year. Thank you to everyone involved in getting us to such a great Final. Roll on 2027!

So so proud of our little village, when we have boys going off to represent Wales in international matches, so congrats to Huw Scriven who had 2 incredible days behind the sticks taking 7 dismissals (catches & stumpings) Karl Rhead who batted with his typical class to rebuild the innings after Wales were 41-5 to see them to victory against New Zealand, and Andy Pawlett, who bowled without luck v England but played some lovely forward defensive shots!!
Tish and proud boys.
