Hayling United’s u18s played their last game of the season today with a fantastic display to finish of with a great 4-0 win away against Fareham.

Goals from Mason Willis, Jack Whipp, captain Alex Graham and Kaii McCormack.

The team finished as runners up in the league but that doesn’t take away the amazing achievement from these players and how proud the coaches are of them.

All season long they have kept working hard and playing the right way. They are a real credit to the club and the way they have come through the youth system through the years and all the coaches who have helped them on their journey.

Every single player can hold their head up high and be proud of the way they have stuck together as a team, working together as a fine squad.

As the older players leave to find a new path, the next generation step in to help the lads already here to push on again.

Congratulations to Locksheath who won the league and a big thank you to every one who supported us along the way.

We will have our presentation night shortly so keep a look out for that.

PYFL 16/04/23

Hayling United 3-0 Gosport Falcons

The Hayling United u18”s put on another good display today in the PYFL against a good Gosport Falcons side.

Both teams were settling into the opening 15/20 mins before Hayling started to take control with Mason Willis shot deflecting off Aaron Buckland to open the scoring.

35 minutes in and the Humbugs second came about after some composed football from Nadi Vasanthan to bring the ball down and pass in to Jack Whipp who then scored one of the goals of the season with a fine nutmeg in front of the opposition bench and lobbing the keeper from 40 yards!

The team have been superb over the last few games, not just going forward but defensively as well. A huge bonus was the return of Nadi Vasanthan to help with the ever dependable Alex Graham and Billy Wilson who was absent today due to Illness.

Hayling continued the pressure with the attacking partnership of Mason Willis and Harry Fraser causing problems and with 5 minutes before half time, Harry Fraser scored to make it 3-0.

The second half see changes made and Noah Jeacock coming on to replace Josh White, Ronnie Mardell for Mason Willis, Callum Hood for Charlie Maguire. All the subs again showing why they are so important to team with their display and attitude.

Two games to go for the season and Hayling United u18s still have work to do but they know that and are performing superbly.

Hayling kept up the pressure at the top of the league with the win against Fareham Town youth.

Hayling have really been able to progress this season by having a solid defense and another good display gives the team confidence to go forward.

After coming on as sub Mason Willis continues his fine form with two goals, with an excellent assist coming from Ronnie Mardell who also scored again for the second week in a row.

The whole squad really put in a shift for each other with Harry Fraser and Jack Whipp linking up play well.

Kaii McCormack came off the bench to finish well before Defender Charlie Maguire scored from 35 yards out with a free kick.

So many players to mention today throughout but we are a team that everyone works for each other and now move on to our next game.
