~ He's Off Again! ~
Dad (aka Roy) is off on the Paris to Hayling this year raising money for Alzheimer's Research UK.
Anyone who knows us will know that our family has taken part in the Paris to Hayling (PtoH) bike ride so many times I'm not sure anyone has actually kept count....
Long ago, when I was at school the infamous Mr Will Stretch started a cycling club with Chris McQuade (the son of Pete McQuade, the founder of the PtoH).
I decided it would be 'fun' for dad and I to do it together as he had originally done the PtoH back in the 80s.
Fast forward over 20 years later(!!!) and dad still goes every year... bearing in mind he's 70 next year, it's no small feat!
Each year he raises money for a charity which is close to his heart, and Alzheimer's Research UK, couldn't get much closer...
As many of you know, Dad's mum, my grandma, has advanced Alzheimer's and Dementia. So this is definitely personal.
Dad is on a mission to raise funds to help fund the incredible research going on to stop more families suffering.
Whilst he is off cycling round France in some stupidly high temperatures, if anyone would like to support his fundraising, please pop in as the collection tin is in our shop and we would love to surprise him with some donations whilst he's away!
This year's ride will see the riders cover 375 miles (not accounting for any wrong turns), from Hayling to Versailles and back again.

🏏💙 What a Fantastic Day for Women’s Cricket at Hayling Park! 💙🏏

Last Sunday, Hayling Island Cricket Club was proud to host a brilliant Women’s Softball Cricket Festival, bringing together players, supporters and volunteers for a day full of fun, friendship and competitive cricket.
A huge well done to our very own Hayling Hurricanes W10 Cricket Team, who represented the club superbly throughout the tournament. The team played with great spirit, enthusiasm and teamwork, showcasing exactly what women’s cricket at Hayling is all about.
A big thank you to all the visiting teams, spectators, scorers, umpires and volunteers who helped make the day such a success. Special thanks also to everyone who worked behind the scenes to prepare the ground and facilities.
Women's softball cricket continues to grow, and days like these show just how enjoyable and inclusive the game can be for players of all ages and abilities.
