Hayling Hurricanes W10 Cricket Team

are very proud of their youngest team member Freya in getting her Silver Champions Award signed off today at the Hampshire Hawks and Derbyshire Falcons match. Gold next!

The Hurricane gained their first league win last night against W10 Emsworth Emeralds. The Hurricanes demonstrated tight fielding and great bowling to secure the win. 🎉🏏

Friday night, the take to the home ground at Hayling Island Cricket Club for a match against W10 Emsworth Emeralds. Pop down and support the teams.

What a scorcher that was! A lovely afternoon spent in Shedfield in a very close match decided in the final overs. Second place for the Hurricanes again today but it was so close. 306 to Shedfield 294 to Hayling. Alice gained the person of the match for her formidable fielding, bowling and batting.

The are playing at Shedfield Recreation Ground this afternoon, 2pm match starts. The team headed out this afternoon, we wish you the best of luck and go well 🏏

Despite me getting the date completely wrong (very sorry) on the match list, today the Hurricanes played a friendly at Hayling Park against Havant Hawks. Despite playing a tight first innings where there was excellent fielding demonstrated, a catch in the field for Alice, behind the wickets for Wendy and an amazing hat trick of bowled wickets for Orshie, our batting wasn't up to the strengths of Havant's bowlers. Second place for the Hurricanes today, with the person of the match going to Jayne on her match debut in recognition of her fantastic bowling over and consistently hitting the boundary when in bat.

Today the Hurricane's played again against Clanfield Cricket Club Kites, they came second with 270-4 versus their 305- 3. They came really close to be able to chase it down, but unfortunately a few errors meant it wasn't our day. The positives are that Clanfield genuinely enjoyed having us and playing us at home and away and a massive shout out to player of the match Orshie for some stunning bowling, wickets and a really solid WK performance well done!!!

Friday night the Hurricanes took on the Kites, in one of the hottest days of the year. This didn't stop the upbeat positive team do their best, work hard and give it there all. Lead by Captain Kezia on this occasion, she ensured the communication was on point and a great wicket gained by Clare helped the team along. Batting pairs scored some 'cheeky extras' which make all the difference, but didn't quite make enough yesterday. The Kites congrats on your success, 2nd place for us. We look forward to seeing you again tomorrow for our return match.
