Littletown U9s Alphas v Greetland

Littletown u9 Alphas put in a fantastic performance against a strong Greetland side, showing great teamwork, determination and some excellent football throughout the match.

First Quarter
Greetland started brightly with Littletown responding well with some excellent passing football. Wilson was heavily involved, striking well on several occasions and unlucky not to find the net. Harrison produced a fine save to keep Littletown in the game, while Josh worked hard defensively to win possession back. Rory linked play brilliantly, creating chances for Wilson, and a superb move involving Wilson and Tyler ended with a dangerous cross that narrowly missed Louie in front of goal.

Second Quarter
Littletown began the second period strongly and immediately put Greetland under pressure. A powerful effort was well saved by the home goalkeeper, while Rory, Tyler and Jonah combined well in midfield with some neat passing moves. Jonah showed great vision with a number of excellent passes to Rory, who was unfortunate not to convert. Jonah also impressed defensively with some strong challenges. Wilson continued to threaten and was unlucky not to get Littletown on the scoresheet.

Third Quarter
Greetland again started quickly, but Littletown battled hard. Jonah and Josh were solid in defence, helping to absorb several attacks. Harrison was outstanding in goal, producing a series of excellent saves to deny Greetland from corners and open play. Rory and Wilson continued to combine well, showing great skill and movement, while Louie went close after a dangerous cross. Littletown continued to create opportunities through some excellent passing football.

Fourth Quarter
Littletown saved their best spell until last. Strong defending kept Greetland at bay before Louie delivered a dangerous cross into the box. The visitors pushed for more, with Wilson, Jonah and Rory combining well in attack. Louie and Jonah both tested the goalkeeper, while Tyler made a strong run forward. Harrison's quick goal kick launched another attack that ended with Jonah forcing a save from the keeper, and Rory also went close late on.

Littletown can be proud of a spirited display full of effort, teamwork and quality football. Harrison made several crucial saves, Jonah grabbed a deserved goal, Wilson was a constant threat, and Rory's all-round performance earned him a well-deserved Player of the Match award. A fantastic team effort from everyone involved.

Littletown u14 Lionesses v Thackley Firestorm

12th September 2026

First game of the season and Littletown U14 girls welcomed Thackley Firestorm to Moor end.

It was an open game with both teams evenly matched, but it was Thackley who took the lead when a disputed throw-in given to Thackley was crossed into the box and there to pounce was the Thackley number 8, Brooke making the save, but the ball trickled into the back of the net.

Littletown rallied back and within 10 minutes, Langers won the ball outside the Thackley box, played a great ball into the box that made a defender inadvertly put the ball towards her own goal and there was Isla following the ball in to score her and Littletown’s first goal of the season. HT 1-1

The second half could have gone either way, with Chloe having a great shot cleared off the line, but it was Thackley who took the lead with their number 8 taking on two players before firing across Brooke into the far corner to take the win FT 1-2

Not a result we wanted to start the new season, but a great performance from all the girls never the less.

Players:

Lily-Rose – started out in defensive midfield and was strong in the tackle and not afraid to run with the ball a great all round performance and a deserved Manager’s Player of the Match

Isla – Put in a new position of up front, she didn’t disappoint, listened to her coach and followed the ball in to take a superbly taken goal.

Macie L – Started on the right wing and was amazing with some great runs with the ball, taking people on and crossing it, set up Isla’s goal, played in defensive midfield the second half and won so many challenges and turned defense into attack so well.

Maicey M – Tried a new position in central defence and was amazing in that position, strong tackles, not afraid of the opposition or helping out her team mates, moved into her usual right midfield / winger and was superb there as well, all round great performance wherever she plays. – A deserved Opposition’s Player of the Match.

Gracie M – Tried in a new position in midfield to help strengthen a position we needed, but also with her speed and work rate, was always up there to help Isla.

Daisy W– Great game as always, started at right back and kept the opposition at bay for most of the match, unlucky not to get to the player for the first goal, a great performance, moved to left back for the second half.

Emerson – A new addition to the team and had an outstanding game, started at left back for the first half, looked assured, composed and fitted in with the team as if she’d been playing with them for years, played at right back for the second half and looks a great addition.

Cody – Played her usual central defender position, kept the opposition at bay and if one did manage to get past her on a rare occasion, her speed saves the day every time.

Lilly G – A new position this season in central midfield and didn’t disappoint, Non stop running back to help the defence, whilst helping to bridge the gap between midfield and attack.

Chloe – Played as a left winger and isn’t afraid to take people on, so unlucky not to score when a shot got cleared off the line. At one point the opposition had 4 people trying to stop her, such is her skill.

Brooke S – Commanding performance in goals, unlucky not to keep the first out and had no chance with the second, stopped so many chances and helps the defence feel more comfortable with her behind them.

We were missing Daisy F, Poppy F and Brooke R today. Hope to have them back next Saturday.

Littletown Cobras vs MTH U10s

The Cobras played brilliantly today against a tough, physical team.

We can see them growing in confidence and stringing together some brilliant phases of football with their passing and movement. They weren’t just booting the ball and hoping for the best; they were moving to create space, talking to each other, encouraging each other to keep going, telling each other where to go on the pitch and who needed marking.

As coaches, we are absolutely proud as punch of this group of lads!

Rudy also hit an absolute screamer of a goal—definitely goal of the season so far! Mason was cool under pressure with a great penalty and showed great composure to score another as well.

The team did amazingly throughout the whole game. Keep it up, lads! 🐍⚽️

Littletown u11 Alphas v Golcar

The Alphas travelled to Golcar for the opening game of the 26/27 season. The pitch, alongside a mix of rain and sunshine, appeared fair and fast. This allowed the team to start well, passing the ball seamlessly and showing little sign of nerves.

The team sheet introduced a couple of new faces: Oliver R who joined us from the Allstars, demonstrated his grit and determination right from the start. He effectively held the ball up on several occasions, keeping us positioned well up the pitch. Leading from the front isn’t easy but Oliver caused Golcar’s defenders no end of trouble with his keen reading of their passes. Often leading them astray, he forced long balls without much worry. Another new addition this year is Jaylen. Initially starting on the bench, when he was brought on he showed composure and confidence, qualities often lacking in newcomers. The strong pre-season has allowed the new players to settle quickly.

I think it’s fair to say that the Alphas controlled the game throughout both halves, limiting Golcar’s chances to a couple of shots per half, all of which were dealt with calmly by Albert in between the posts. The backline of Jax and Chester was solid throughout. Jax glided into the final third numerous times, helping us move up the pitch and set up attacking situations. Jax was also in the right place to turn in a cross from Max in the first half to give us a well deserved goal - as ever, a cool side foot finish.

Chester seemed to be everywhere, outmuscling the Golcar forwards and blocking any attempt on goal. Showing the fight of a boxer, Chester claimed the Player Of The Match award due to his superb battling performance - a real standout effort in an unfamiliar position.

In the middle, Eli looked calm, getting the ball wide to Benny and Max nice and early. When Golcar had the ball, Eli hunted them down quickly, outmuscling them to retrieve the ball back for Littletown. Max provided the assist for Jax for the first goal, but also looked a threat throughout on the right wing. Benny on the left, was able to pass the opposition multiple times with ease, and caused lots of problems when linking up with other players. A real highlight was his dinked finish for another goal. After some great distribution from Albert to Eli, Benny was free to take the pass, advance and clip the ball over the Golcar keeper - pure class.

Overall, a solid start to the season. Lots of passing, lots of talking and many dangerous situations created.

Congrats again to Oliver and Jaylen on their debuts, and well done to Chester (🥊) on his well deserved POTM award.

Littletown u10 Cobras vs Mirfield U10s

First game back of the season and all the lads were raring to go.

We kicked off the game with two new players for the Cobras making their official debut: Ollie, our new goalkeeper, and Mason, midfield/attack, aka Usain Bolt — absolutely like lightning when he sets off. ⚡️

We started with good determination straight off the bat. The passing on display was great to see. Some good goals from both teams throughout the game.

Mirfield were a very good opposition, but we matched them tackle for tackle, ball for ball. A really close game.

Cobras started the season strong with a hard first game, but it was great to be back and see all the lads back together.

On to the next one for the Cobras! 🐍💪

Ollie had an outstanding game. He was absolutely brilliant between the sticks and definitely made the difference out there today.

He kept us in the first half with some incredible saves, and in the second half, matched it, pulling off fingertip, goal-stopping saves.

LITTLETOWN u8 TIGERS 🐯 – FIRST EVER GALA! 🩵🤎

What a way to announce ourselves! Our newly developed Littletown team stepped into their first ever gala and showed incredible grit, determination and team spirit from start to finish.

After battling through the tournament, the boys reached the final, where they produced a fantastic performance to secure a 6-1 victory and lift the trophy! 🏆🔥

Even more impressive, the team only conceded TWO goals throughout the entire tournament — a brilliant achievement that shows just how hard every player worked for each other.

A fantastic first gala for our Littletown u8 Tigers. The hard work is already paying off, and this is only the beginning of what's still to come.

⚽️🐍💚 LITTLETOWN COBRAS VS OSSETT PUMAS 💚🐍⚽️

And just like that… the final whistle blows on another season for the Littletown Cobras.

Today felt bigger than just another football match. It was a reflection of an entire season’s worth of hard work, development, friendships, confidence, bravery and memories created together. From the very first training session to the final game away from home today, every single player in this squad has grown in their own way — technically, mentally and as teammates.

What makes this team special isn’t just goals or results. It’s the way the boys encourage each other, battle for one another and continue trying to improve week after week. Watching this group grow together over the season has been something the coaches, parents and supporters should all be incredibly proud of.

Tommy started the game in goal for the first quarter and once again showed how reliable and composed he has become. He made some very good saves early on and looked calm under pressure whenever Ossett pushed forward. Once he moved out into defence he carried on his excellent game by reading danger brilliantly, stepping in with interceptions and using the ball confidently with his feet. Tommy’s understanding of the game has developed massively this season and his composure at the back has become a huge strength for the team. Well done Tommy 👏⚽️

Alfie took over in goal for the second quarter and did brilliantly, making some sharp saves and showing great reactions when called upon. Back out in right midfield he was absolutely everywhere, making powerful darting runs, battling for tackles and linking the play together with some excellent passing. He fully deserved his goal after another tireless performance full of energy and determination. Alfie’s work rate and willingness to always give everything for the team has been outstanding all season long and today summed him up perfectly. Well done Alfie 👏⚽️

Theo stepped into goal for the third quarter and looked confident and assured as always, making good saves and organising things well from the back. Once back up front he became a constant danger to Ossett with his movement, skill and pressing from the front. Theo never stops working for the team and his twisting, turning and close control caused problems throughout the game. He came close on several occasions with some great efforts on goal and showed again why he is such an exciting attacking player to watch. Theo’s confidence and overall game have come on massively this season and he should be proud of how far he has developed. Well done Theo 👏⚽️

Bailey played the final quarter in goal and produced some fantastic saves, showing bravery and concentration right until the end of the game. In midfield he worked hard for the team throughout, making strong tackles, cutting attacks out and moving the ball well with some really good passes. This has been Bailey’s first season with the Cobras and he has done really well and always given his all, improving week after week with his confidence and understanding of the game. His effort and attitude all season have been excellent and today was another strong performance to finish on. Well done Bailey 👏⚽️

Leo played across defence and midfield and put in a really positive performance for the team. He worked hard throughout the game, got involved well with his tackles and made some really good passes when building attacks forward. One of the best things about Leo all season has been his attitude and willingness to keep learning and improving every single week, and today he showed again how much effort he always gives for the badge and his teammates. Well done Leo 👏⚽️

Joey was outstanding once again in defence and fully deserved the Parents’ Player of the Match award after another brilliant display. He covered so much ground up and down the pitch, battled for every ball and defended with real bravery and determination throughout the game. One of the biggest improvements in Joey this season has been his confidence — especially in trusting himself on the ball and committing fully into challenges — and it has been incredible to watch him grow into such a strong and dependable player for the team. Another top performance from Joey. Well done Joey 👏⚽️

Rudy played in centre midfield and attack and once again made a massive impact on the game. Even though he has only been with the Cobras for the latter part of the season, he has fitted into the group brilliantly and brought so much energy, drive and competitiveness to the side. Rudy battled all over the pitch, fought to win every ball possible and constantly looked to drive the team forward. He came close with several long range efforts, including one fantastic strike that crashed against the crossbar. His determination, work rate and attitude have been outstanding since arriving and he fully deserved the Coaches’ Player of the Match award today. Well done Rudy 👏⚽️

Farlie played at left midfield and left back and was absolutely fantastic throughout the game. He went on some brilliant runs with the ball, twisting and turning away from players with confidence and attacking intent every time he got forward. To top off a brilliant display he grabbed himself a great goal as well. This being Farlie’s first season with the Cobras makes his performances even more impressive, as he has settled into the team brilliantly and become such an important part of the group already. His technique and quality on the ball have grown massively over the season and today was the perfect way to finish. Well done Farlie 👏⚽️

A huge thank you to all the parents and grandparents who have travelled home and away supporting the boys all season long. Whether it’s cold mornings, rainy days or long away trips, your support means everything to the team and helps create such a brilliant environment around the boys.

Thank you as well to all the parents who help every single week with equipment, setup and everything that goes on behind the scenes to help the team run smoothly.
