It was also great to finally meet Ruaridh McCall | Fitness Coach | NCL my strength and conditioning coach, in person.

The real reason youāre out of shape probably has very little to do with the gym.
Life got busy and you slowly stopped making yourself a priority.
Your training disappeared. Your nutrition became reactive. Your energy dropped. The promises you made to yourself kept getting broken.
Another diet or training plan will not fix that on its own.
You need to rebuild your habits, raise your standards and start proving to yourself that your word still means something.
This is about more than changing your body.
It is about getting your confidence, discipline and self respect back.
DM me āLEADER 365ā if this sounds familiar.

I recently turned 26, and something felt different.
I found myself thinking about where I am, where Iāve been and, more importantly, where I want to go.
Iāve always been told Iām mature for my age, but the truth is, I had to grow up faster than most. While many people are only beginning to take life seriously in their mid-twenties, Iāve been doing that for a while.
Life taught me the importance of hard work and accepting that no one is coming to do it for me.
I started a business while learning how to run one. Nobody saw the late nights building websites, creating systems and strengthening client relationships. If Iād known everything involved before starting, I might have thought I was in over my head, but I learned by doing, and Iām still learning every day.
Iāve also learned to protect my energy and choose my circle carefully. I used to give too much of myself away and struggled to set boundaries. Now, I can set them without guilt because I understand that protecting myself isnāt selfish, itās necessary.
Your environment matters. The people closest to you will influence the man you become.
Iāve chased the wrong things and allowed myself to become distracted. Drinking, smoking, chasing the wrong women and neglecting my nutrition, all of it stopped when I became clear about the man I wanted to be.
Loyalty. Honesty. Integrity. Respect.
Those values became more important than short-term gratification.
Iām still only 26. Iāve got plenty to learn, more to build and mistakes still to make. But I refuse to waste the years ahead of me.
I want to build something meaningful, help people, protect my health, surround myself with good people and continue challenging myself.
Most importantly, I want to become a man my future self can look back on and be proud of.

You donāt suddenly stop leading yourself.
It happens slowly, through the small habits you begin accepting as ājust life.ā
You stop keeping promises to yourself.
You react to every problem instead of planning ahead.
You avoid difficult conversations.
You neglect your health, lower your standards and wait to āfeel motivatedā before taking action.
Eventually, you look at your life and realise youāre no longer in control of its direction.
Leadership starts with you.
Take responsibility. Restore your standards. Start doing what you said you would do.
Which one sounds familiar?

Today I woke up not feeling it at all.
I couldnāt be arsed training, and I was already thinking about stepping back from a few action steps in my diary.
But that wasnāt the plan.
What gave me the kick up the arse? Opening my laptop and looking at my goals.
Once I saw them, I remembered everything Iām building and everything Iām going to achieve.
You wonāt always feel motivated. Thatās why you need goals that remind you where youāre going, and the discipline to keep moving towards them.

I used to tell myself I couldnāt start my own business.
āIt isnāt for someone like me. It wonāt work for someone who comes from where I come from.ā
And guess what? Thatās exactly how I lived.
No risk-taking. Playing it safe. Hiding from what I truly wanted, all because I believed the story I kept telling myself.
So, what story are you telling yourself about why you canāt lose weight, get in shape or become fu***ng unstoppable?
āIām too busy.ā
āIāve tried everything.ā
āI donāt have the discipline.ā
āIāll start when life calms down.ā
Be careful, the story you repeatedly tell yourself can quickly become the life you accept.

My client joined Leader 365 at the start of the year after years of trying to get in shape on his own.
Heās in his mid-40s with a busy life, work responsibilities and all the pressures that come with it.
Like a lot of men, losing weight wasnāt always the problem.
Keeping it off was.
Heād train, eat better and make progress. Then life would get busy, routine would disappear, nutrition would become reactive and old habits would creep back in.
Fast forward to nowā¦
33KG DOWN. šŖš»
But the weight loss is only part of the transformation.
Itās one thing getting the weight off. Itās another becoming the man who keeps it off.
He now trains consistently, takes control of his nutrition and is becoming fitter, stronger and more physically capable.
Weāve also shifted the focus towards performance. Heās taken up running and weāre now working towards his first 10K.
Because eventually, your goal should become bigger than the scales.
āļø Can I run a 10K?
āļø Can I get stronger?
āļø Can I improve my fitness?
āļø What is my body capable of?
A big turning point came when we identified his pattern of reactive nutrition.
He realised that even when work gets hectic and life becomes demanding, he still controls his daily decisions.
Thatās what makes results sustainable.
Not another 8-week diet.
Not relying on motivation.
Itās building the habits and behaviours of a man who takes care of himself regardless of what life throws at him.
And being in your 40s doesnāt mean your best physical years are behind you.
33kg down is a brilliant achievement, but this is only the warm-up.
Now weāre building towards bigger goals.
Because leadership starts with learning to lead yourself.
Thatās what we do inside Leader 365.

The Post-Fight Plan That Changed Everything for Me
One of the hardest parts of fighting for me actually happens after the fight.
For weeks, sometimes months, everything has a purpose.
I know when Iām training.
I know what Iām eating.
I know what Iām working towards.
Then the fight happens⦠and suddenly, itās over.
Your body has just gone through this massive period of stress and stimulation. Adrenaline, dopamine, anticipation, nerves , everything is heightened.
Then you go from all of that⦠to nothing.
And personally, Iāve always found that transition difficult.
I enjoy the rest at first, but then I struggle to get myself back into my normal routine.
So I realised I needed to stop just hoping Iād feel ready again.
I needed a post-fight plan.
Now I actually put structure around my downtime.
I decide how long Iām going to properly rest. I know when Iām going to start moving again. I slowly introduce the gym and training instead of expecting myself to go straight back to 100%.
Because I know myself.
I operate better with structure.
And Iāve also learned that after a fight, I donāt need to be achieving at the same level.
Sometimes the plan is to recover.
Sometimes the win is simply getting back into routine.
Having that structure waiting for me after the fight has made a massive difference to how I handle the comedown and get myself moving forward again.
