🥋 Empowering Women & Girls Through Sport 💪❤️
There’s something special about watching young girls grow in confidence through sport — and then seeing them use that confidence to lift up those coming behind them.
A brilliant example from the weekend as our Competition Team Captain and club role model Chloe Glover took the time to warm up and support Sophie Darroch before Sophie stepped onto the mat for her first ever competitive Kumite match. 🥊
For Sophie, it was a huge new experience. For Chloe, another opportunity to step up, lead by example and pass on some of the confidence she has developed through her own Karate journey.
This is what we want sport to give our girls — confidence, courage, friendships, opportunities and strong female role models. 🌟
One young athlete taking her first steps into competition, supported by another who is developing into a brilliant young leader within the club. ❤️
Not just building competitors.
Building strong, confident young women who support each other. 🥋🔥

🥋 Central Scottish Open Championships 🥋
A big well done to our JKS Clyde students who stepped onto the competition floor today at the Central Scottish Open Championships! 👏
⭐ Chloe Glover – competing for the first time since stepping up into the tough 3rd Kyu+ category. Some great experience gained across both Kata and Kumite, with plenty of positives to take back into the dojo as we continue adjusting to this new level. Lots of potential to build on! 💪
⭐ Ben Cullen – a massive well done on entering his first major regional competition after almost a year away from Karate. Brilliant to see you back, getting stuck in and gaining valuable experience at your first competition of this scale! 👊
⭐ Sophie Darroch – congratulations on competing in your first ever Karate competition! Sophie threw herself straight in at the deep end and took the whole experience in her stride. A fantastic first step into competition Karate! 🌟
Plenty of positives, plenty learned, and plenty to get back into the dojo and work on! 🥋🔥
A huge thank you to the parents for giving up their time and supporting our students today — these opportunities wouldn’t be possible without you. ❤️
Thanks also to our fellow JKS Scotland team for coaching and supporting our students throughout the day, and to all of the organisers, officials and volunteers who gave their time to make the event possible. 👏
Back to work! 🥋

🥋 Every lesson starts with respect — and every lesson ends with respect.
Seiza is more than simply how we begin a Karate class. It sets the standard for everything that follows.
Respect. Discipline. Focus.
Set the standards from the very beginning, and watch them carry through every part of the lesson — from the first bow to the last.
At JKS Clyde, we’re not just teaching Karate. We’re developing the attitudes and values that go with it.
Start with respect. Train with purpose. Finish with respect. 🥋

🥋 Little people. HUGE confidence. 💪✨
Karate is about so much more than kicks and punches.
It’s about helping little ones find their voice, believe in themselves, make new friends and discover just how capable they really are. ❤️
Small steps on the dojo floor can build BIG confidence for life.
🥋 Confidence • Discipline • Respect
