Match Report

Hellifield 1-8 Cowling FC

A tough one to take for the boys in Orange.

Hellifield faced a heavy defeat to the hands of a clinical Cowling side. Hellifield were never at the races on saturday and that showed, with the final result being a hard one to take for all involved.

Coach Dave and Manager Denz have told the lads that hardwork will be needed to bounce back and show the fighting spirit of Hellifield.

Credit goes to Damo Runciman who picked up his 2nd Man of the Match in back to back weeks showing his class in the centre of the pitch.

Jacob Wroe once again adding to his tally for the season.

Thanks to all supporters who showed up and stayed throughout the rain and poor performance.

The lads will be back stronger and hungrier to provide positive results and gain some crucial points.

We go again on Saturday. 👍👍 🍊🍊🍊.

As we look towards going back to weekend football.

Lets have a quick recap on last Thursday's result at Home against Trawden Celtic FC.

A great game played out by both sides saw Trawden come out on top.

Trawden were the ones to start the strongest with 2 well worked goals to take a strong 2-0 lead at Half time.

Hellifield still felt capable off creating chances to get back into the game and a few chances did come the way of the home side. No clear efforts trouble the Trawden keeper. But promising signs were building in the 2nd half for the Tangies.

And just as Hellifield were building on some strong possession Trawden punished a sloppy loose ball and broke on the counter attack to take full control in the tie.

This wasnt to be the end of the game as Hellfield scored a well worked freekick which saw J.Wroe add to his scoring tally for the season.

FT
Hellfield 1-3 Trawden.

On Thursday Hellifield unfortunately fell short against local rivals Settle United Football Club in a fairly contested game.

In the early stages of the game Hellifield stood firm in defence blocking and clearing some good chances that fell Settle's way.

Midway through the half Striker T.McKillican manage to win a duel against Settle Centre Half and found himself through on goal. Unselfishly he squares the ball to the on coming J.Wroe who calmly slotted away.

Hellfield thought they we going to be leading at the break until a superb strike from a set-piece saw the home side draw level.

HT 1-1.

The second half showed to be a close encounter as well. Settle building possession but faced firmly by a strong defensive performance from the Tangies.

It was a penalty that saw settle take the lead.

Hard done by, this didn't ruin the game. As Hellifield pushed to look for an equaliser a great chance fell to young A.Richards who found himself 1 on 1 but a great save from Settle keeper kept the score the same.

A great battle between the 2 sides. A tie that everyone will be already looking forward too in the return fixture.
