Mighty Basketball is back this weekend! 🏀
Back for Summer term on Sunday 21st April at Longdean School sports hall, Hemel Hempstead.
Years 1, 2 & 3 9am -9.55am
Years 4, 5 & 6 10am -10.55am

Sessions are back on! We were delighted to return to the court this weekend for Mighty Basketball sessions. We were impressed to see the skills on show, looking sharper than ever, it must have been all that summer practice.

Huge congratulations to Mighty Basketball lead coach Andy for absolutely smashing the London Marathon yesterday. Finishing in an incredible 2 hours 59 mins.

Mighty Basketball sessions are now longer ⏰ ⬇️
We are pleased to announce that after half term sessions will increase in length by 10 minutes to 55 minutes, at no price change, that’s value for money.
The children are developing and the improvement we have seen in a few months is incredible. Lengthening coaching time and combining the groups will increase technical development, allow for additional match play and most importantly offer more time to have fun.
Of course, changing the length of the session does mean a change to the start and finish times. During the morning, we will run 2 sessions, the first at 9am and the second at 10am.

Now that term has finished, we have swapped our basketball courts for desks and are making plans for next year.
Renewals for the new term are in place and many of you are now signed up to play next term ✅ 👊

Our Basketballers will be sharing their love for Basketball by giving friends and family the opportunity to experience the enjoyment they get from playing team sport each weekend 🥳
Sport and friendship are so interwoven and more friends is always good, right?! Teammates are made from other players who become friends or from friends who join your team 💚🏀

Why are team sports so great for younger children? ⬇️
Team sports have so many benefits for children. We’ve listed some of the reasons why we think team sports are so fantastic ⚽️🏀🏐🏈
🏐 Cooperation 🤝 Working together in a team and learning that together you can achieve so much.
🏐 Confidence 💪 improving body image for both girls and boys, understanding how capable they physically are and being proud of what their body can do.
🏐 Making friends 🥰 Building relationships that will offer them support and acceptance beyond their existing groups. An additional layer of friendship that can offer solace if things aren’t easy elsewhere.
🏐 Emotional benefits. Experiencing winning and losing and the feelings they bring. Taking learnings from each outcome and not considering it a “failure” or “mistake” but an opportunity for growth 🙌
