A proper response. A proper 90-minute performance. ๐ช
After throwing away last weekendโs game, the message before today was clear we play for the full 90 minutes.
We started in a new formation and came flying out the blocks, creating chance after chance but failing to find the finish.
Against the run of play, Neville Hill took the lead from a free kick that found its way through our back line and eventually to their winger, who finished well.

Captain Connor Mountain then made the call on the pitch to revert back to our usual 4-3-3, and it made an instant difference.
Jack Eccles found space on the left and delivered a lovely ball to Brad Gill, who produced a brilliant first-time finish off the post and in.

We continued to create chances but went into the break level.

The half-time message was positive โ we had been the better team, but we needed to be more clinical.
Luke Ordish continued to cause problems down the right/left? wing, repeatedly getting to the byline and giving their full-back nightmares. The Neville Hill keeper was having an excellent game, though, and kept them in it.
Eventually, we found the breakthrough.
Brad Gill saw his effort saved, but the ball fell perfectly to Damon Jarvis, who made no mistake with a first-time finish.
2โ1 SESKU! ๐ฅ
Unfortunately, we switched off at the back again and Neville Hill levelled at 2โ2.
They then started to gain some momentum and created a couple of chances, but Josh Braddish stood tall and made some big saves to keep us in the game. ๐งค
As we started to take our foot off the gas, a couple of changes were made and we kicked on again.
Jack Eccles had a goal ruled out for โoffsideโโฆ a decision that definitely wasnโt agreed with by everyone on the sideline! ๐๐
Brad Gill then had another effort cleared off the line, while Hedley Conway somehow couldnโt convert from eight yards!
The message on the pitch was simple:
WE NEED A WINNER.
And we found one. โค๏ธโ๐ฅ
With minutes left, chance after chance came our way before Connor Mountain picked out a lovely pass to Brad Gill.
Brad beat his man and calmly slotted home to send Sesku into the lead!

The final few minutes were all about one thing:
Work for each other. See the game out.
And thatโs exactly what we did. ๐ค

On another day, we win this game by a few goals, but poor finishing kept Neville Hill in the game much longer than they should have been.
Most importantly, we showed the character to keep going and get the three points. A massive response to last weekend. ๐
