October's Film Night - The Christophers

Julian Sklar (Ian McKellen) was once a star of London’s 1960’s and 70’s pop art explosion, but he hasn’t painted in decades and has been broke for years. His two estranged children (James Corden, Jessica Gunning), desperate for an inheritance, hire Lori, an art restorer and former forger (Michaela Coel), to pose as a prospective assistant in order to access 8 unfinished canvases Julian has buried deep in storage.
Her plan is to complete them, then return them to storage, where they are to be “discovered” upon Julian’s death subsequently netting the children a tidy sum.

Ian McKellen and Michaela Coel are the double act of the year, it's named as one of the best films of the year. Witty and wonderful film!

Today we would like to recognise our longest-serving regular hirer, Julie Rose, and say a huge thank you for her incredible loyalty and dedication to our community hall over the past 30 plus years.

Julie first hired the Hall in 1993, becoming a regular hirer in 1995, and this week she is retiring. Her commitment and support over more than three decades have meant so much to the Hall and to the many people who have attended her sessions over the years.

The trustees felt it was only fitting to recognise this remarkable milestone and thank Julie for her years of loyal support.

Thank you, Julie, for everything you have done for our Hall and our community. Your dedication, friendship and unwavering support have been truly appreciated, and we wish you a long, happy and well-deserved retirement.
