Back in September 2022 Cervélo launched and lauded a blast from the past.

2002 saw the Soloist Team release and defined (maybe invented) the aero-road genre. Combining the tech know-how and cycling passion that Cervelo is famous for; the Soloist would have made massive waves - if it wasn't so fast slippery eel-like and aero!
Needless to say it was a benchmark.

Any self-respecting bike shop will have a pair of scales - these Park Tool ones have a clever chamfered handle that clamps in the Park Tool workstand!

We thought we'd weigh a 54cm Cervelo R5 DuraAce and a 54cm Cervelo R5 Ultegra.
There's about 200g difference! Not masses, although there are other factors at play too.
On the DuraAce you get uprated bottom bracket bearings - longer life and less friction. Better durability from components. And DT 240 hubs - an upgrade on the very good DT 370s
