A big afternoon awaits as we face off against a very solid Mangotsfield side, and the boys will be looking to put in a huge performance away from home.

60 years ago, a group of young lads from Hereford got together with a football, a few mates and a love for the game.

They had just watched England lift the World Cup at Wembley in 1966. Inspired by Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst, Martin Peters and the rest of Alf Ramsey’s side, they wanted to create something of their own.

And so, in November 1966, Westfields Football Club was born.

From those first kickabouts on Widemarsh Common, Westfields has grown into a club that has become a huge part of the local community.

Six decades of players, managers, volunteers, supporters, trophies, memories, and moments that have shaped the club we know today.

But above all, Westfields has always been about people.

To everyone who has played their part over the past 60 years — we thank you.

The bank holiday weekend is shaping up nicely for the ‘Fields.

We’re on the road on Saturday as we make the trip to Mangotsfield United, before it’s back to Allpay Park on Monday for a local derby against Hereford Pegasus.

Two games. One big weekend for Westfields.

This week, we caught up with one of our brilliant supporters, Jordan, to get his thoughts on the new-look ‘Fields, his favourite players so far and where he thinks we could end up come the end of the season! 👀

Q — What do you think of the new-look Westfields team?

A — “Danny has put together a really great team and it's nice to see us playing so well at the moment. I'm really enjoying the attacking football actually”

Q — Where do you think we’ll finish this season?

A — “If we keep playing like we have been then I think there's no reason why we can't finish top. We've been brilliant. Really brilliant”

And finally…

Q — Who’s your favourite player so far?

A — “Definitely Tilbury, but Dallaway and Cottrill both come in a close second.”
