HSFC Basketball Academy

Thanks to our friends in Hartpury for hosting yesterday. It was a great opportunity for our development players to get experience with 2 players taking the court for the first time.

11 scorers led by Ollie with 17 gave us a convincing 63 to 51 victory.
This was all about the experience though. 8 players got more practice on the table, 13 players played. And our shortest travel to an away fixture ever.
Sharing a bus with the HSFC football team brought another level of entertainment.

And so it begins…
Coventry away in the AOC D1 isn’t meant to be easy, especially with a lack of preparation.
While our opponents showed a lack of care, our boys absolutely nailed what it means to represent HSFC.
From the 6 2 first quarter early lead, our discipline was clear, winning every area of the contest.
Everyone got in and played decent minutes which was a bonus gifted us by our hosts.

Stand out performance from 1st years Tom, coming from the third unit stepping in as the court general and Alex leading all scorers with 37. Joseph our other 1st year in the book with 2. Josh 14, Ewan 10, capt Ollie 8, Dom 4 and Praise 3 completed our scorers.
As above big contributions defensively from the whole unit. We weren’t great but we were good enough and will certainly get better.

A comfortable 33 point win 45 / 78 makes it another year undefeated in Coventry.
