The GB Liners Herefordshire Junior League Finals day - U15โ€™s

On Sunday, kindly hosted by Brockhampton CC, saw the first of our 3 finals days, and it provided an exciting afternoon of cricket, with four teams battling it out for the title.

Semi-Final 1 โ€“ Brock v Eastnor

Brock won the toss and elected to bat, posting 94โ€“6. Finn Goodwin top-scored with 20, while Will Morgan took the only Eastnor wicket.

Eastnor chased the total successfully, finishing on 96โ€“1. Monty Friedman led the way with an excellent 53 retired not out, having earlier bowled a very economical spell of 10 balls for just 7 runs. Teifion Oโ€™Connor also impressed with 2 wickets for 8 runs as Eastnor progressed to the final.

Semi-Final 2 โ€“ Burghill v Ludlow

Burghill batted first and produced the highest score of the day, reaching 159โ€“4. Mo Sabir retired not out for 51, Harry Jones made an unbeaten 38 and Noah Herbert added 26.

Ludlow fought hard in reply, with Hugo Smout scoring 33 and Ben Brassington 25, but Burghillโ€™s bowling and strong total proved too much. Ludlow finished on 124โ€“4, sending Burghill through to the final.

The Final โ€“ Burghill v Eastnor

Eastnor won the toss and batted first, setting Burghill a challenging target with 199โ€“7. Monty Friedman once again led from the front with 51 retired not out, while Austin Seal contributed an excellent 42. Oscar Brown-Good bowled an outstanding spell, taking 2 wickets for just 6 runs, with Teifion Oโ€™Connor again proving extremely economical.

Burghill battled bravely in reply, with Harry Jones finishing unbeaten on 40 and Mo Sabir scoring 21. Unfortunately, Noah Herbert was forced to leave the field injured after bowling seven balls for four runs.

Burghill finished on 94โ€“6, meaning Eastnor were crowned champions after an excellent Finals Day.

Congratulations to all four teams, umpires, scorers and all the volunteers involved, for the quality of cricket, sportsmanship and effort shown throughout the day.

๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’š **MAKING HISTORY!** ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ

What a tour for our Herefordshire U15 Girls as they made history on the countyโ€™s first-ever girlsโ€™ cricket tour to the Isle of Wight!๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ

Five games. Three days. Three wins, and a brilliant 10-run victory in the final match to finish the tour in style! ๐Ÿ™Œ

There were some fantastic performances along the way, including Soli P superb 79 and Matilda S 46, but the real highlight was seeing the girls grow in confidence, bond as a team and represent Herefordshire so brilliantly โ€” both on and off the field. ๐Ÿ’š

Beach trips, campsite fun, plenty of cricket and memories to last a lifetime! โ˜€๏ธโ›บ๐Ÿ Head Coach Kate Brazier said it was a tour โ€œwe won't forgetโ€ โ€” and we think the girls would agree!

๐Ÿ **What a day for our Bartestree & Lugwardine Walking Cricketers!** ๐Ÿ’š

Our walking cricket team travelled to the iconic **New Road**, home of Worcestershire County Cricket Club, to compete in the National Walking Cricket Competition โ€“ and what a performance they put in! ๐Ÿ‘

โœ… Won **3 out of 4 matches**
๐ŸŒŸ Competed against teams from across England
๐Ÿค Enjoyed a fantastic day of cricket, friendship and fun

Captain Roger summed it up perfectly: "I am proud of my team and how far we have come in a short space of time. To come and play cricket here is very special, and to win some games against opposition from all parts of the country was a huge bonus!"
Walking cricket is about so much more than the results. It's about staying active, making friends, and sharing a love of the game in a welcoming environment.

A huge congratulations to everyone who represented Herefordshire so brilliantly, and thank you to Worcestershire Cricket Foundation for hosting such a fantastic event. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ
