Photographed on this day in 1976 at home in Epsom, who is the young singer-songwriter and drummer pictured with his first wife and her daughter, just as his career was taking a huge new turn?

Still known mainly as the man behind the kit, he had recently moved to the microphone after a famous frontman’s departure — years before stadiums, gated drums, film soundtracks and one of the most recognisable voices of the 80s made him a household name.

Can you name him?

Celebrating her 65th birthday today, who is the late-arriving fourth member who slipped into a Manchester outfit just as they were mutating from stark guitars into machines and melody? Rarely the loudest in the room but all over the architecture — keys, sequencers, and the cool discipline that helped turn grief into dancefloor geometry — who is she?

Celebrating his 64th birthday today, who is the Liverpool-born singer-songwriter whose band spun a 1983 dream-pop classic, The First Picture of You, out of a Peel session and teenage melancholy? Today is the international day of poultry 😪

When it comes to the individuals who are the most affected by the masacres of animal agriculture, chickens are second to fish in number of victims 💔

According to the FAO, demand for the bodies of these individuals has grown from 9 to 132 millions of tons between 1961 and 2019 and demand for their eggs, from 15 to 90 millions 🥚

The United States leads the production, followed by China, Brazil and the European Union 🇺🇸

It is estimated that in 2021 about 26 billion individuals were exploited and slaughtered 🐥

Watch out for our next post where we will give you some facts about hens, roosters and chickens 💚

These wonderful individuals deserve to live and not be brought into this world with the only intention of being exploited and slaughtered 🙅
