The Seminar for 2022 will be applied techniques from Kanshiwa Bunkai and of course Aiki connections.

“I first stepped into a dojo in 1968 learning Judo and then moved to Wado Ryu Karate, I moved to Uechi Ryu in the late 70’s early 80’s. Since gaining my Shodan which was signed by GM Kanei Uechi I have been teaching Uechi Ryu continuously since 1986 either as a Club instructor or as a dojo owner. In 2005 I started training in Tomiki Aikido with the British Aikido Association, in 2009 I opened my own Dojo and I have been teaching continuously since then.

I have competed at domestic, national and international level. And am a qualified international referee.
I am currently Chair of the British Aikido Association, and head of The Sh**un Martial Arts School.

Over this period I have trained with a number of Japanese and Okinawan instructors.
Including Hinori Ohtsuka founder of Wado Ryu and Tatsuo Suzuki, In the world of Aikido I have trained extensively with Shihan’s Nariyama and Shishida Heads of Shodokan and JAA Tomiki Aikido respectively , In Uechi Ryu Master Sensei’s Nakahodo, Yamashiro, Yonamine, Toburo, Okuhama and of course our own GM Mattson and IUKF president Darin Yee. As well as many well know martial arts instructors such as Sensei’s Bob Mustard and Nick Mills (Angry White Pyjamas by Robert Twigger) and Tobin Threadgill.

I have been lucky enough to have trained and taught across the globe for which I am very grateful and of course have presented and both Summerfest and Winterfest.”

Sh**un Karate Students, On Saturday May 13th there will be a special training session of all Uechi Ryu Students, The purpose is to pass on the latest training information gained in Okinawa, please make every effort to attend as this WILL directly affect what will be looked at for future gradings. training will be 10:30 - 17:30 and will be priced at £10 per person to cover hall cost.

Address is Bromley College Sports Hall, BR2 8HE, there will be a meal in the evening but under 18's will need to leave the venue by 9PM, please contact Georgina Cheesman, via thsi page to book your place.
