NEYL RD3 HETTON HAWKS - CANCELLED
It is with huge regret that we have to cancel this Sunday’s NEYL round at Hetton.
Unfortunately British Cycling are unable to provide the chief commissaire which means our agreement with Sunderland Council, and our public liability insurance are not valid for the event.
Commissaires were in place and we have only found out today that this is no longer the case. We have tried to get a chief commissaire from the region and also from other regions but this has not proved possible.
As we are sure you all appreciate, a significant proportion of the work involved in hosting a race takes place before the event, communications with the council and park alone have been going on for months and we had people organised to provide medical cover, timing, marshals and the huge range other roles needed.
We are all gutted to have to cancel, and we hate to take away an opportunity for our youth riders to come out and race, but this has been entirely out of our control.
Unfortunately the event will not be rescheduled.
Refunds for entries will be automatically issued over the weekend via BC.
