Morning vs Evening

The early birds vs the night owls both will claim that one is better than the other and the truth is you will see results if you pick a time and stick to it.

I personally find I have much more energy in the morning and would rather get my workout in early doors and carry on with my day, it would not be sustainable for me to try and train in the evenings as I would definitely find every excuse under the sun to not go! The same can be said for those who appreciate a lie in before work, they might attempt a week of early starts but that snooze button will get more and more tempting as the days go on.

Find a time that fits into your schedule and don’t cancel on yourself!

Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness or DOMS

When we try something new and mix up our exercise routine no matter what our fitness level we will all fall victim to DOMS. It occurs due to microscopic damage and inflammation in the muscle tissue!
Most of us will often find it peaks 24-48 hours after our exercise session, will this be forever?… staying consistent with a programme will help the muscles to build strength and stamina, you will begin to notice your muscles can recover much much quicker!

Tips to help with DOMS:
- Eat protein
- Good nights sleep
- Master a stretching routine
- Stay hydrated

After having a few days of eating and drinking freely, what do I do now?

What I always do in my normal day to day routine, I don’t restrict or exercise to punish myself just sink back into fuelling my body with good food and getting it moving!
This is the same for all year round, if you overindulge don’t let it throw you off and consider the ‘whole day ruined’ just return back to what makes you feel good 😊

What’s your why?🤷🏽‍♀️

It’s super important when starting out to understand your why?
Most people have the goals to lose weight and tone up, but why do you want to achieve those goals? How do you think it would effect your health, your confidence and your everyday life?
We need to tap into these emotions to make our goals more meaningful, therefore when we are having a bad day or feeling less motivated we can check in and remind ourselves why its important to us 🤩

Within a couple of weeks clients have commented on feeling more energised and noticed an improvement in dull aches and pains!
When talking about physical gains and noticeable changes in physical appearance, 3 months of staying consistent to a fitness programme will have you shocked at what you can achieve🏋🏽

Happy Valentines Day! 💞

Grab a loved one and get out into nature for a stroll 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️

Going for a walk and getting outside does more than increase our step count… It can help to improve our mood, productivity and a chance to spend quality time with those closest to us

How many times should I be training a week?

When the goal is muscle growth, the optimum amount to train each muscle group is 2-3 times per week. If you don’t have the time to do full training splits, spread the exercises out into 3 full body training sessions, focus on progressive overload and you’re flying 💫

Exercise is a celebration of what your body can do, not a punishment for what you ate!

I have always enjoyed my food and can’t see that changing anytime soon! Keeping fit and active is a way to respect our mind and body, feel strong and see what we are capable of, if we look at it as punishment or a chore it’s not going to be good for our mental health or sustainable and we want to be fit for life!

I would never recommend a restrictive way of life when it comes to our diet, we want to create a healthy relationship with food where we see it as fuel and notice the difference in ourselves when we supply it with whole foods, I would be a hypocrite to sit here and tell you to cut out takeaways and alcohol (who wants that?) it simply comes down to being mindful, everything in moderation!
