Hi all you sharp shooters out there.

This is a real quick one today, There is a big show coming soon. Now I know that some of you crave a shiny new rifle or pistol. wether this is an Air rilfe, .22LR or Shotgun there is a show of which you can hopefully bag a bargain.

Yes THE BRITISH SHOOTING SHOW at the NEC 16th - 18th February.

I will put a link in the bottom of this post.

It is boasting UK and Europes Premier Trade show, with some of the top names in the Industry. They will be hosting quite a few demonstrations like Gun Dogs and Engraving (my particular Favourite) to name but a few.

So book your tickets now! Then you can come up the club with your brand new purchase, to show the other hot-shots how its done.

I will post again really soon, but wanted to get the info out there. Stay safe out there and links will be posted below.

Hi all you sharp shooters and budding shooters out there.

Happy new year to you all!.

To start off we have had a few enquiries, Joining fee's, open days and the AGM (annual general Meeting) date.
I will do my very best to answer all the questions including...Not getting responses from our website. 🙄

Ok the first important one is the AGM, This is the time that current members get to meet committee members. Wether they are long term and or newly appointed.
These are the ladies and gentlmen that volunteer to do all the things needed to keep the club running.
It also gives members a chance to ask questions that you may have been wanting to ask for a while.

It is also Trophy giving out time, So all the HOT SHOT SHARP SHOOTERS get something shiny, to prove that they are not too bad when it comes to shooting competitions but....It also shows members who they have to beat.
Watch them closely, study their techniques and keep them on their toes or, learn and improve on the techniques and be the next Sharp shooter.

Where and when?

The AGM is being held on 26th January 2018 at High Wycombe Judo Centre Downstairs.

Members with Dissablities: there is a small door near the dissabled parking in the side of the building.
If it is locked, call the building and ask them to open it for you.

Once inside turn immediately left, and follow the corridor around and follow the usual noise.

Membership fee's: This is also discussed along with lots of other information at the AGM.

Open Days: This is for any other shooting accept Air Rifle and pistol shooting.

Potential open day dates are as follows:

17th March 2018
19th May 2018
21st July 2018
15th August 2018
17th November 2018

Starting from 13:00.

These may be subject to change, but you will be notified on here and hopefully via the website.

All visitors are required to sign the following declaration before they can handle a firearm or ammuntion:

For Air rifles and pistols, send a message on here or via the website. We will notify the RCO (Range control officer) that you will be arriving on Air shooting Night from 19:30 on Thursday's.

Here are the links to all the information on open days and enquiries.

http://www.hwdrpc.co.uk/open-days/

http://www.hwdrpc.co.uk/air-membership/

http://www.hwdrpc.co.uk/open-day-enquiry/

AND FINALLY!!.... No Responses from websites:

I know this is frustrating when you get no responses for memberships and or open day enquires.
So if this does happen, just go to the open day anyway, and explain the situation to the RCO at the desk.
He will hopefully take your information and details, or already have the information to hand.
This has happened before and when something like this slips through the net, we are often not aware and the problem will go un-noticed or fixed.
So please let us know so we can fix the issue.

Once again sorry for the long post, but needed to get through alot of information.
Look forward to seeing you all soon, and above all stay safe out there.

Open Days | High Wycombe and District Rifle and Pistol Club Open Days At various times during the year we hold open days at our club, these are aimed to provide the opportunity for non-members who wish to try the sport to ‘have a go’. Please show your interest by contacting us on our website:

http://www.hwdrpc.co.uk/open-day-enquiry/

And filling out the online form, It helps give us and idea on numbers too.

Not sure if you can attend? you can still pop along and have a chat with one of our friendly Range Officers on the day.

Air rifle Section Halloween Shoot:
For current members, We are having a Halloween Sniper challenge 26th October (Normal Thursday Night)
This is bench resting with free entry and targets for all current members.

The idea behind this is that we have had a few people that have said they don't feel ready to do competitions, or don't consider themselves good enough. We have seen some real talent and want to encourage this talent, which is why this little bit of fun has been created to give equal chance to all people of ALL ages. there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd which will be presented on the night.

And finally.. have you wondered why you can sometimes miss that all important shot. everything is good, your lined up and take the shot and.... its left or right of the target.
The lovely Kirsten Joy Weiss has another video which may address one of the issues for why this would happen of which I will post below.

Until next time, stay safe out there.

BASC - The British Association for Shooting and Conservation 12/06/2017

Hi all you sharp shooters, and budding shooters out there.

This week we are on a bit of a serious note.

As much as we try to stay safe at all times we are only human, we are not as infallible as we would like to believe. So if an accident does happen, what do we do then? and who to ask?
Who are we going to turn too?
Who is going to fight your corner?
it only takes a split second before you realise...Oh No! from Shotguns to Air rifles.

Many organisations will not allow you to shoot on their land or at their premises unless you are insured in some way.

We realise this ourselves, which is why we are looking into a BASC membership for all aspects of shooting.

I will add a link below to their website, so you can have a look at some of the benefits. There is a small discount available though a club BASC membership. If you are very interested then please let us know through personal message.

Please only message if you are interested in the membership to BASC and are willing to pay accordingly. we are offering this to get yourselves and our members a discount for BASC (The British Association for shooting and Conservation) membership.

That is all for now, so have fun and stay safe out there.

BASC - The British Association for Shooting and Conservation BASC is committed to ensuring that shooting’s value to rural communities is recognised and that its contribution to the UK economy is acknowledged.
