Pre season girls get together, afternoon tea at Hilliers garden centre, Marlow. Happy days !!

The outdoor Bowling season is just round the corner, come and join us on our first open day , Friday April 24th from 2pm - 6pm, or our second open day on Tuesday 19th May 2 pm- 6pm.
We offer free advice and help in getting started in this most addictive sport,
Reduced membership charges on your first year, social events and the club supports a well stocked bar, there is free parking.
Come on down and give it a try !!

Our annual pilgrimage to Warners at Bembridge I.O.W saw our club enter 5 teams in the bowling festival.
3 teams made it to the play offs,( it should have been 4 teams but just missed out on shots difference. ) however our team of Barry, Chris, Peter and Robin made it to the final, but we're beaten by a very high quality team from London Civil Service Bowls Club.
All players and non players enjoyed the days away and are looking forward to next year's gathering.

Thursday saw our Centenary Cup.
The winners were Ray , Ken and Karen.

Last week was a busy week for the club.
Our Tuesday night pairs league was completed with our All Ladies team the "Ovaltinines"

On Tuesday afternoon 20th August we entertained a group from our local Postal sorting and delivery depot, our guests enjoyed their first taste of bowling, after a session of coaching and rolling up. A more competitive final four ends was eventually won by Nick. Hope to see them come back as soon as possible

Sunday 10th August was the day set for our President’s Sheild tournament.
A great afternoon of bowling was enjoyed by all eighteen entries, after completion we enjoyed a very nice Ploughman’s and pudding.
Chantelle was the winner with 23 points, Stuart second with 22 points and Graham third with 17points.
Thanks to the green keeping team, catering team and all those who helped make this day a success.

On Friday 1st August we held our annual Ladies Gala.
16 teams enjoyed a fine day of bowling on our green with the weather
Staying dry and sunny , but not too hot.
First and second place went to the two teams from Chalfont and third place went to the team from Desborough (Maidenhead ).

Our first in-house competition of the season, our Coronation Cup, took place on Sunday afternoon.
The winning team was Ray and Merle Birch and Karen Newton.
A great afternoon of good bowling
Was finished off with a meal of a jacket potato and Chilli.

Friday saw the start and Finish of our Centenary Cup, 8 teams of 3 players were seeded sorted previously and all fingers were crossed
for a goods day’s bowling, without any rain interlude to hold hole proceedings .
Two games of triples, one single, and one pairs is the usual running of this well liked competition, preloading before we enjoy our finials weekend.
This year’s winner, team 7, StuartHall, Ian Hunter and Graham Williams, won by one shot only, our runners up was team 1, John Philips, Karen Newton and Ray Solomon.
Thanks to the green team for producing a green that behaved very considering the time of year,Barbara Fountain for teas and coffees, and adjudication on the finial result. Many thanks to all who participated after a very busy week.
