MORE AREA 6 SUBSERDISED TRAINING
Working Equitation with Marcia Wakeman – 23rd May 2026
Manor Farm, Kingsey from 10.30 am
Groups of 4 at £35 per person (to include a BRC discount of £18.33)
This is your chance to join us for a fun and relaxed introduction to Working Equitation - a test of the horses temperament and training, the riders skill and ability and the relationship between horse and rider. You'll learn to ride a course of simple obstacles including poles, pens, slaloms, reinback and a gate. It’s a bit like a grown-up Handy Pony competition and it is huge fun!!!
The sport of Working Equitation is the ultimate outcome of the development of the horse as a working animal.
Horses were originally domesticated and trained for farming and herding purposes, work which required them to respond to their rider whatever terrain and difficulties they may face.
The sport is a highly refined and sophisticated demonstration of these activities, but with the added required quality of elegance and speed of ex*****on.
Working Equitation comprises 3 phases - Dressage, Ease of Handling, Speed and at international level, cattle penning.
All entries through My Riding Life www.myridinglife.com – simply put Area 6 in the search and our training will appear.

Diane Thurman Baker in hand clinic Saturday 2nd May
Perhaps some of us would like to go as a group?
From Diane’s page: “Come and join us as we guide you through our training from the basics of in hand work up to Grand Prix. With a variety of horses we will demonstrate how the in hand work helps to improve strength and suppleness, how to transfer the aids to ridden work and how to progress up the levels. All proceeds will go towards the wonderful work of Beverley Brightman as she works tirelessly to help horses in St Lucia.”
Comment if you’d like to form a group!

7 of our members had some fabulous flatwork training today with top dressage judge - Alison Duck - and indoors at hedsor park so no problem with inclement weather!
We hope to repeat this in January or February so if you’re interested please message us.

We had a great training session with Kylie Roddy on Sunday for the 100+ group. Great fun was had by all, with the lesson focussing on riding tricky lines and related distances! We have another training session booked in for 80-90cm on 16th November and are planning more of these training sessions with Kylie, so please do book in as soon as they are advertised so you don’t miss out!
