How it started VS how itβs going! πͺπ»π°.
Trust me, my body is naturally shaped like a pear, with a flat ass, narrow shoulders & no back! π€·πΌββοΈ.
But my Ideal body-shape is an hourglass figure, with V-taper to my back, shape to my shoulders and thick toned thighs & butt! β³π.
So you know what, I put the work in at the gym!ππ»π.
Lifted heavy & ate clean! ποΈββοΈπ².
Thereβs 7yrs between these pictures & I have been a lot leaner & also a lot more out of shape inbetween (than in the pic on the right) but thereβs definite improvement in my body-composition & shape! π―π.
I spent about 20yrs of my life, feeling insecure/ self-conscious in my own body & not once, would I wear a bikini to the beach!π.
So let me tell ya, just how amazing it is for me to actually feel confident in the body that Iβm in! π―π₯°.
So the only advice I would give you, is to hit the gym, eat the boring same meals, week in week out and I promise you with consistency & time, the results will follow! β³π―πͺπ».

Long time no post! πͺπ»π°.

Currently sitting about 7lbs heavier than Iβd like to be come bikini weather! βοΈπ.
Donβt get me wrong, I donβt hate the way I look, I just prefer for my abs to be lil more visible & my knees to be a tad less chubby in my bikini! ππ

Slowly but surely Iβll keep chipping! βππ»π.

Because lifting heavy weights makes you look like a man! ππΌββοΈ.
Trust me, you donβt accidentally put on muscle! π.
And in fact, Muscle in the right places, is what gives your body toned curves! π―β³ππ».
Two days βtill Christmas Eve (my Christmas) and Iβm finally beginning to feel festive! Anyone else?! ππΌπβ¨.

Hereβs to gyms opening up again tomorrow! π―π.
If like me, youβve been lifting weights for years, there is NO home workout in the world, that was EVER going to replace lifting weights!π―.
Thereβs literally nothing else that compares to the amazing feeling I get from crushing a great weights session! π―ππ».
Health benefits aside, lifting gives me an outlet for constant self improvement. π₯°.
It helps me forget about my worries, for that hour that I am just too busy focusing on staying alive under that barbell. ππ
.
It distressed me. ππΌββοΈ.
Improves my mood & the quality of my sleep. π΄.
How lifting weights makes me look,is just a very small part of why I lift weights! ππ».
Having said that tho, I am very much looking forward to getting back to this more muscular/leaner look that makes me feel comfortable in my own skin again! βπ».
In some ways lockdown has been brilliant at giving me a chance to focus on my other interests & given my body to fully recover from my injury from last summer, but I am SO ready to whip this lil bod of mine into shape (an hourglass shape) again! πͺπ»π°.

At a time like this I think itβs important to remain positive & make the most of the bad situation! π―πͺπ»π°.
Personally for me, since my waterskiing injury I was never probably gonna go back to heavy weight training anyways, so now that we have no access to gyms here in the UK, I am quite happy with a bit of resistance work & light dumbbells/kettlebells! ππΌββοΈ.
Hereβs my lil circuit I did on my sunny balcony today! βοΈβ»οΈππ».
-Walking lunges
-resistance band kickbacks
-kettle bell squats
-hip thrusts
-resistance band adductors
-single leg deads with the kettlebell
-calf-raises
I kept the reps high and repeated the circuit for 30mins! πͺπ».
the only other exercise I have planned today is an hour long walk in the park later! π³πΎπΆπΌββοΈ.
But, since the thatβs only 1.5hrs of my day, I am keeping myself active with chores, cleaning and decluttering around the flat in general too! π§Ίπ§Ήπ§½.

βYou canβt hate your current body into the shape you wantβ .
I started making permanent changes to my body, once I started actually threating it well! β€οΈ as opposed to punishing it with workouts & restricting foods!π―.
I am currently attempting to shed a bit of fluff and these I are the things that Iβm going to be focusing on:
π€Making sure I get at least 8hrs of sleep in, most nights.
π§Ensure I drink at least 4lts of water every day.
π₯Getting my meals/snacks in every couple of hours, to ensure I donβt get hungry.
πΆMaking sure I have variety & a range flavours in my meals (no plain chicken, broccoli & rice here! βοΈπ).
π€ΈπΌββοΈStretching, mobility work.
ππΌββοΈ Focus on Self care. Meditation, reading, Epsom salt baths. .
I think the whole point of any project is to FEEL GOOD! And all of the above make me feel just that, whilst also supporting my goals and giving me the energy required to smash my workouts!.
The change should come from wanting to do whatβs good for your body!π―.
Self-compassion and self-love is where itβs at! β€οΈ.

Project Is on! π― πͺπ».
Slowly but surely chipping away at the body fat β.
Staying pain free is still at the top of the list, so Iβm doing lots of stretching and mobility work, but Iβm gonna see if I can slowly start working towards jogging and running again! (Following my waterskiing injury last Summer πβ·)π€.
As I do actually miss doing me some sprints! ππΌββοΈπ¨.

Current situation is only a week βπ» back to training in 2020, after over a month off! π.
Current is to shed a bit of fluff to get a bit more shredded for 2020! Though Iβd quite like the thickness in my thighs to stay! π.

First week back at the gym, last week, after over a month off! πͺπ»π°.
Five workouts down.
How many times, out of the five days that I made it down the gym,do you think I actually βfelt likeβ going down the gym, do you reckon?! π€π.
I can honestly say:Zero.
After all the that time off I could honestly happily never have stepped a foot inside a gym again. π€·πΌββοΈ.
BUT hereβs the thing: I also know if I persevere with it and force myself to go,wether I feel like it or not, in a couple of weeks/months time I will start feeling AMAZING for it again! π―π₯°.
And actually feel rubbish if I MISS a workout.
But for now self-disciple is the π! ππ».
Currently,I just feel tired all the time and all I want to do is sleep and drown myself in comfort food, but in the long run doing that would only make me feel worse, so weight training is where itβs at! πͺπ».
