I’d keep this simple if you’re feeling overwhelmed…

If there’s one nutrition habit I’d encourage every busy mum to focus on, it’s eating more protein.

Not because you need to become a bodybuilder.
Not because you have to track every gram.
But because it can make such a difference to how you feel.

Protein helps to:
💪 Build and maintain muscle
✨ Keep you feeling fuller for longer
⚡ Support steady energy levels throughout the day
❤️ Help your body recover after exercise

As a general guide, aim for around 20–30g of protein at each meal. If you’re exercising regularly or trying to build strength, you may benefit from a little more.

Simple ways to increase your intake:
🥚 Eggs at breakfast
🥣 Greek yoghurt with berries and nuts
🍗 Chicken or turkey at lunch
🐟 Fish a couple of times a week
🧀 Cottage cheese as a snack
🥤 A protein shake when life gets hectic

Remember… you don’t have to be perfect.

If your breakfast usually has 5g of protein, don’t worry about suddenly hitting 30g tomorrow. Just ask yourself, “How can I add a little more?”

Small changes, repeated consistently, are what create long-term results.

I’d love to know… what’s your favourite high-protein snack? 👇

Sundays look a little different in your 40s… and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

No hangover. No pressure. No chasing the next thing.

Just me, my favourite playlist turned up loud, my beautiful home studio, and a workout that makes me feel strong from the inside out.

These days it’s less about punishing my body and more about looking after it. Moving well. Feeling good. Building strength for the years ahead.

It might not seem exciting to everyone, but this is my happy place. An hour that’s completely mine.

And after years of trying different things, I genuinely feel like I’ve found the best version of myself. Not because I look a certain way, but because I feel stronger, healthier, calmer and more confident than ever.

Sometimes the best Sunday session isn’t the wildest one… it’s the one that leaves you feeling ready for the week ahead. 💪✨

Some things become part of who you are… and for me, Bikram hot yoga is one of them. 🧘‍♀️❤️‍🔥

Fifteen years ago, a friend introduced me to my very first Bikram class. Thanks, Holly — you probably had no idea how much that one invitation would change my life.

That first class was at Yoga Matters in Jersey , with the incredible Trisha and Darren. They ignited a love for this practice that has stayed with me ever since.

Fast forward 15 years, and although life has changed in countless ways, one thing hasn’t…

I still keep coming back to Bikram.

Not because it’s easy—it definitely isn’t.

I come back because of how it makes me feel.

When life feels busy.
When my body feels stiff.
When my mind feels overwhelmed.
When I need to reconnect with myself.

This is where I come.

Bikram isn’t just about flexibility or fitness. It’s a practice for your whole self.

✨ It strengthens your body.
✨ It calms your mind.
✨ It teaches you to breathe through discomfort.
✨ It builds resilience, patience and focus.
✨ It leaves you feeling grounded, energised and completely reset.

As someone who coaches women to become stronger, I truly believe strength isn’t just built in the gym. Sometimes it’s built by staying present, finding your breath when things feel hard, and trusting your body can do more than your mind believes.

These days you’ll usually find me at Yoga Hook in Gerrards Cross , practising with the wonderful Heidi . She creates such an encouraging, supportive space, and every class reminds me exactly why I’ve loved this practice for so many years.

It’s funny how life comes full circle. Different studios, different teachers, different stages of life—but the same practice that has supported me through all of them.

For me, Bikram has always been so much more than exercise.

It’s therapy.
It’s meditation.
It’s movement.
It’s breath.
It’s strength.
It’s stillness.
It’s coming home to myself.

And somehow, after 15 years, I know it’ll always be something I come back to when I need it most. ❤️

Have you ever experienced Bikram hot yoga? If not, maybe this is your sign to give it a try.
