Reposting because it's just as true today as it was 4 years ago! ✌️😝

I do my makeup almost everyday, but it is not an indication of whether or not my s**t is together! 😂 As you can see from this picture, there are toys everywhere, breakfast dishes still on the table, that laundry there has been ready to pack away for days and there is a growing pile of ‘stuff’ on the unit at the back that might get dealt with one day (one of many piles I might add). At the start of the year I made a number of promises to myself, one being make more time for self care. At the time I had imagined monthly massages, weekly trips to the gym by myself and sitting in a bubble bath everyday...then reality hit 😂 but instead of giving up on finding a ‘me’ thing, I decided to take 10mins a day to do my makeup. I don’t do it because the actual makeup makes me feel better (I’m more than happy to roll around all day with no makeup and my hair in a messy bun), it’s the 10 minutes of focus on me that makes me feel better. Especially after long sleepless nights and early starts. The difference that 10mins can make to my attitude is astonishing. I’d love to meditate or sit in silence, but the boys don’t allow for that, bless them 🥰
Over time I’m sure that my ‘me time’ will change and maybe I will get my daily meditation and monthly massage, but for now a bit of time in front of the mirror while the boys play does it for me.

The number of people who still come to the gym to “cardio because I’m feeling heavier after a naughty weekend” frustrates me no end. If you love it and it makes you feel great, then yes yes yes, it’s for you! But exercise should never be punishment, always opt for modes of exercise that you enjoy and leave you feeling great physically and emotionally. If your main exercise goal is weight loss and you hate the idea of hours on the cross-trainer or treadmill, the great news is the are more efficient ways to go about it.

Running and other cardio is a great way to improve lung and cardio fitness, and I encourage my clients to include elements of cardio they enjoy into their training week.

Sleep is one of the most important things we can gift ourselves!!

It’s widely accepted that adults need around 7-8hrs good quality sleep per day, but how many of us actually get that?

Today is national fitness day.

“ aims to celebrate what fitness means to people, promoting that keeping physically active means something different to us all.”

I no longer train just for aesthetics, I exercise to be able to keep up with and carry my growing children. I also only exercise in ways I find enjoyable!

Perception is everything!

When I finished with my online clients this morning I looked out at the rain and felt a little dejected…another day all stuck inside, great! 🙄
My two boys looked out the window and very excitedly went and grabbed their wellies and asked to go on a puddle adventure 😂
We had the most amazing hour of splashing puddles, digging in mud, and listening to the rain on the trees.

The most amazing results my clients achieve are in improved movement, fixed niggles and injuries, smiles, confidence, the list goes on. Most of my clients also see changes in body composition as a result of working with me…but the stronger more positive lifestyles and attitudes are what make me the proudest. Shout out to here!!

There is tonnes of marketing and posting at the moment about ‘new year, new you’, ‘start on your summer body now’, ‘diet for a skinnier you’…blah blah blah!! 😒
I always worry, at this time of year in particular, that I appear to be following this same narrative as a trainer.

I am a coach who believes in encouraging my clients to love themselves, move well, and mindfully enjoy foods. I promote healthy, happy lifestyles.

I do not provide 12 week transformations.
I cannot promise 6 pack abs and thigh gaps.
I don’t believe in restrictive diets.

Transformation coaches and weight loss coaches are an important and integral part of the fitness industry (I’ve been there and tried it)…it takes a lot of education and commitment to achieve those results with lots of different clients, but it’s not the lane I drive in.

For a long term lifestyle of health and well-being, I’m your girl.
