Running more isn’t always the only answer.
This is the position Beth was in…
She loves running & competes in half marathons which she was wanting to see improved times for.
She already felt she was running on fumes, tired after work & training more than enough.
A lot of the time, the answer usually doesn’t lie with “more running”.
In some cases it does…
Sometimes, it’s a blend of that & other things.
The two common that most runners miss is strength and spring.
Once we we pulled back excessive running volumes, and gradually build these qualities & started building better fuelling strategies alongside…
She was feeling more energetic, recovering better and was holding paces easier that used to cause her pain or simply, couldn’t recover from.
She ended up shaving 20minutes off her half marathon PB.
Hit a trap bar deadlift 2x her bodyweight 🤯
& Had 10x the confidence.
If you were in a similar boat to Beth…

Dealing with Injury setbacks is undoubtedly the toughest part of sport.
Not being able available to do what you love.
Reena was there & got to the stage a lot of others find themselves in…
The in-between stage of being able to exercise and returning to sport…
You don’t have that trust in your body to get back out there and play without fear or restraint.
This is what we helped Reena overcome, who is now back playing and training without the doubt.
If you’re also stuck in that in-between phase, or dealing with niggles that don’t seem to go away…
Drop me a DM “return”
I’ll explain how the PRFM programme works and how I’ll help.
One way to get the wheels moving 🐶💨

Yes you need to be strong.
Yes, a lot of athletes would see huge improvements by getting stronger & potentially gaining more mass (to a point)
But it isn’t the only answer.
More mass = more to move.
If mass is on the up & strength improvements are non existent or too slow, you’ll be making yourself harder to move.
Most importantly, this shouldn’t be negatively impacting other metrics like your sprint & jump numbers.
Get strong so you have more potential to sprint faster, change direction better, jump higher & further.
Don’t get strong just to “ look strong” - otherwise you’ll always be obsessed with getting more weight on the bar.
