It is with deep sadness in our hearts that Chris Bailey passed away recently.
Chris was such a huge part of the Bodywize family, he’d be in twice a day most days and would have engaged with so many of our community.
Chris had a heart of gold, his smile was always beaming across his face and we’ll never forget his laugh. He could turn a bad mood into a good mood with just a look and a chat.
Chris was more than a friend, he was a mentor, someone we trusted and ran ideas through. Someone who helped with jobs around the gym, someone who always had time for anyone.
Chris was so passionate about his family, never a day went by without a mention of how they were and what they were doing.
Chris went through an incredible transformation recently as he was about to step on stage, showing that he was inspirational as well as kind and caring.
To us at BWE he will forever be known as the UNCROWNED KING and his legacy will live on through the people he inspired as well as his amazing family.
The funeral is on the 21st August at South Leicester Crematorium, Countesthorpe at 12 noon.
The wake is at The Old Inn Pub, Littlethorpe from 1.30pm.
If people from the gym wish to come they are more than welcome. It is family flowers only but if anyone would wish to donate to the chosen charity which is the British Heart Foundation, then please feel free.
Chris wouldn’t want the gym to close, he’d be angry at the thought of it, I can imagine the conversation about inconveniencing other people; so as a mark of respect to him, we will be keeping open and friends of the gym will be in to keep things running for us so our staff can share in the celebration of his life. To us, he was the model professional and absolute family man.
