Join Shanti Spirit yoga classes in Burbage, Hinckley and online for a gentle, practical way to be ca This is yoga for real life. It's not about being bendy.

I'm Jayne and for over 20 years I've been teaching practical, down-to- earth yoga in Burbage, Leicestershire. It's about feeling more at home in your body. We move slowly, breathe deeply and give your nervous system a chance to exhale. The gentle, rhythmic movement and simple breathing practices help your body unwind and your mind settle. Expect a warm, light-hearted approach. It's not fancy yoga.

Did you know that a stiff neck can affect your sense of balance?
Yoga can melt away tension, free up the space, relax your nervous system and improve your balance. It's not just about standing on one leg. Though that is helpful too. πŸ§πŸ¦΅πŸ™πŸ§˜

Melt away neck tension. In this week's yoga class, we focus on softening and releasing the throat, neck and jaw. The neck is the bridge between your brain and the rest of your body. It functions like a motorway junction of nerves and pipework. It doesn't respond well to tension or restriction. So the practice this week gently softens, makes space and restores the flow of fluid and information from your top to toe and back. See you there! Jayne πŸ§˜πŸ™πŸ«

Physical literacy is the ability to move with confidence and control.
According to Sport England:
"Physical literacy is the motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge, and understanding that enables individuals to value and participate in physical activities for life. It is a lifelong journey that focuses on how individuals interact with movement, supporting overall health and well-being."
Are we as humans losing our ability to read our bodies and guide ourselves through the world with ease?
Come along to yoga to explore, learn and above enjoy movement again πŸ’žπŸ€ΈπŸ™
