🔥 And that’s a wrap for this year’s Ring O’ Fire races!

2026 saw some big moments for the race:

• Launch of a relay option for the Ring O’ Fire 130 race.
• Outright female winners in both the Firelighter 50 and Ring O’ Fire 130 for the first time in the race’s history.
• New women’s CR’s in both the Firelighter 50 and Ring O’ Fire 130.

Each and every runner who took part in one of this year’s races has contributed to making the event what it was, and we thank you all for signing up, showing up and inspiring us all with your performances!

Race photography will be released over the coming days, but for now we’ll all be taking a bit of time out to rest and relive the memories of an incredible weekend of racing!

🔥 What a nail-biting finale to the 2026 edition of the Ring O’ Fire 130!

With less than an hour to reach the finish line before the 16:00pm ultimate race cut-off, two competitors were still out on the course, giving it everything they had to claim their finisher’s medals.

Daniel Jenkins (148) was the first to make his appearance, looking calm and collected as he crossed the line in a total race time of 54:33:36.

There followed a tense wait for our final runner Glyn Jones (151), knowing he had a maximum time of 55 hours within which to complete the race - with a finish after this time constituting a DNF.

And with minutes to spare he forged his way to the finish line, to the rapturous applause of the gathered crowd, securing a finish time of 54:56:11.

The fact Glyn had never run further than 24 miles before taking on this challenge makes his finish all the more spectacular.

To take on a race of this calibre requires an incredible level of courage, physical & mental strength and dogged determination to continue, even when things get really tough.

And for our final runners, knowing they were chasing the clock adds an even greater pressure.

But they dug deep and proved what is possible when you commit yourself to a goal and refuse to give up.

🔥 The emotion of reaching the Ring O’ Fire 130 finish line is clear to see on the faces of the final wave of runners arriving at Holyhead Breakwater Park.

After over 50 hours out on the Anglesey Coastal Path, the relief of finishing is palpable.

Only two runners are yet to complete the distance, needing to reach the finish line by 16:00pm to meet the race’s overall 55hr cut-off.

It’s a race to the wire for this final pair, and here at Breakwater Park we’re glued to the race tracker and willing them on every step of the way!

🔥 Anna Parsons (175) and Cath Lawrence (158) are the final two female runners to cross the finish line at this year’s Ring O’ Fire 130.

Both ladies were full of smiles as they arrived side by side at Holyhead Breakwater Park in a time of 51:36:10, embracing the atmosphere and emotion of such a significant accomplishment.

We still have our final 5 runners out on course, progressing ever-closer towards the end of what has been a monumental 130 mile test of grit and determination.

🔥 50 Ring O’ Fire 130 finishers are now safely over the line at Breakwater Park. Just 7 still out on course, chasing that final 16:00pm race cut-off.

By this point in the race, the effort of the miles already travelled is evident on the runners’ faces. Holyhead mountain brings a final sting in the tail to an already gruelling 130 miles of coastal terrain.

But knowing what these determined final few have already accomplished leaves us all confident we’ll be seeing them proudly wearing their finisher’s medals before long.
